...passed away this morning. I'm sure some of you (and your dogs) have been through his classes before.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Pretty sure we took our border collie mix to a few of his classes when I was little.

He's just pretending, he'll roll over any minute now.

Thanks, CB. I thought something was right with my choice of word!

He was great - 8 years ago our lab puppy was growling at our daughter - we were going to get rid of her (dog not daughter) vet told us to call Dick first. Spoke with us on the phone for over an hour - no charge - long story short - our lab is still with us. gave us sound advice about never having a dog in the house that is larger than your smallest child.

Yes. Talked about him being pretty close to passing as well.

He was a great trainer. Now I wish I would've taken him up on more of his classes to get the most out of my money.

Here's the article on him just before he passed away. Apparently someone is making a documentary about him.

Very sad to see him go.

His motto was "It takes a jerk to train a dog." He also panned the book "Water Dog" that I see people mention here from time-to-time.

We go out to his house every Saturday for the Socialization classes. The men filming the documentary have been out there for about 2 months now. I can't wait to see it. He was absolutely amazing with dogs and will be missed by many.
