This is a book I recently picked up. It is dated 1902 and contains 25 images from around the old campus, including one of the football team:

Most likely. That and another building on the original BR campus were the same.

It is the oldest building on campus, moved here brick by brick in 1934 from LSU's downtown campus near the state capital and was put back together backwards. It houses the accredited Manship School of Mass Communication. LSU's nationally recognized student newspaper, The Daily Reveille, is a consistent winner in journalism competitions. The newly renovated building includes four computer labs, two multi-purpose classrooms and a public forum for lectures and symposiums.

seems like its possible...

The buildings in the third picture are probably the ones next to the State Capitol building.

The book is not dated, but the roman numerals on the building on the cover is 1902 and there is another photo of a building with 1902 on the front (not roman numerals).

Weird thing, the roman numerals on the building on the cover is 1902, but not correct. It should be MCMII, but if you convert the ones on the building, it is 1902.

My quess is the student body in 1902 is running right at 410.

The buildings are very easy to id form other books on LSU.

The 1902 football picture is a good one and has been printed elsewhere, but I still need to id all the players.

LSU had a bad habit of printing photos of the teams and players with no id in the Gumbo and small press items like this book.

A Law degree is a 2 year course in 1902, as most were, a Law degree goes to 3 years in 1909.

Great find AT, if you every sell see me.

The new picture in your post is the back side of the J School which was redone with deck.

Wish you had a picture of the front of the building that faces the street/quadrangle side of campus.

I like the use of the Purple/Gold ribbons. A nice reference to the story of how they came up with the colors of purple and gold for the uniforms. It would of been green as well but there were no green ribbon at the store where they were buying the ribbons. I am excited for you and this book. Great find.
