Green Bay Columnist on Flynn

by Eric Goska - Green Bay Press Gazette Columnist
"Flynn made it look easy, at least in the first half. He completed 11 of 18 passes for 143 yards and two touchdowns to earn a passer rating of 123.1. That number would have been higher had Jordy Nelson and Donald Driver not each dropped a pass in the second quarter.
But those numbers tell only part of the story. Flynn was sharp on third down, helping keep the Patriots' Tom Brady off the field. He also spread the wealth, hitting eight different receivers in the opening two quarters.
Flynn hit six straight third-down passes after pressure prevented him from completing his first. He had a perfect rating (158.3) on that down, which included a 66-yard scoring toss to receiver James Jones that gave Green Bay a 10-7 lead."
After reading the Green Bay Sports page and some of their forum comments, you can believe nobody is dogging Flynn, with the exception of the last drive, and most of the criticism there is on Coach McCarthy.

so Tennessee really was on Miles/Crowton and not on JJ.

If the O-line would have held their blocks(when they were actually blocking) for longer than a 3 step drop, Matty would have been awesome.

Seems like I saw more than two drops by receivers in that game.
Flynn looked awesome.

it was on the faulty headsets Egg, duh. coaches on the field kept getting Stud's postgame BBQ order instead of the play call to relay to JJ.

This. Kudos to the GB media for recognizing a gutsy, talented performance.

Funny how Flynn is infallible. Not surprising.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Flynn could be starting on more than a handful of teams in the league. Seriously. His IQ is extremely high and he has very strong pocket presence and knows where everyone is. Combine that with the ability to get a few yards on the run and he's not a bad qb at all. I think he'll be a consistent starter at some point in the next few years.

What if he went to Minnesota?

Whose a better QB? Flynn of Russell? The question will never die.

Not exactly. That arse hat lost my support when he showed up on national television wearing a hoodie that looked like a neon sign with a necklace the size of a Cadillac hubcap that said "Bama Boy."
