for those that think the playoffs are a lock right now

I realize a win would put the Saints in for sure but you also have to realize that they are travelling to a cold outdoor game against a good team that's also fighting for a playoff spot. Then it's a Monday night game in ATL where the Falcons are great at home. The Saints then finish against TB which is no slouch and will be battling for a wldcard spot. I have faith but at the same time, let's not start booking hotel rooms yet.

i think most realize we are not a lock for a playoff spot, but we are well on our way. The way this team is playing right now it is hard to see us drop all three games. Knock on wood.

Forget faith. We are the defending champs. The way the Saints are playing right now I know that there a playoff team. It's just a matter of when and where.

1 win gets us in?
No. But as long as we beat the Bucs, and the Packers lose at least 1 of there last 3 games then were in the playoffs.

Its really going to be hard for the Pack this weekend. They are going up against the red hot Patriots & Rodgers is a game time decision. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Packers fall off the map in the last 3 weeks.
On the other hand, the Saints are playing solid football at the right time. It would take a major collapse for us not to make the playoffs & I just don't see this team falling apart at this point.
All those fans thinking that this team is the same team we saw up to the Browns game, need to get that out of their heads. The Saints are now healthy, they have a running game, the O-Line is playing much better, Brees is playing much better & the defense seems to be back on track. I'm not saying this team can't lose but its going to take a really sloppy game from the black & gold & an outstanding flawless game from the opposing team.
Baltimore has been consistently inconsistent. They have gotten by with some very close calls. Outside of New England, they haven't played a team with this caliber offense. Tampa just doesn't have the fire power to compete with us & if anyone has noticed they are getting beat up with injuries Green Bay style.
Atlanta will be the big game but I don't have to tell that to fellow Saints fans. Its hard to type this because I hate having to give the Falcons props but they don't beat themselves. They don't turn the ball over & play ball control offense. The Saints are going to have jump on them quick & come out blazing.
Its going to be huge to get them one dimensional. The defense has to take Turner away & put the game on Ryan's shoulders. Then in obvious passing situations, it will be a must to get in Ryan's face & force some bad throws.
I can't wait to for next week leading up to the Falcon game but first our boys have to go up to Baltimore & handle business there first. Also maybe we can get a gift from Seattle this weekend.

We have an element that equates to an edge. It is called Sean Payton. He will have the team prepared and make necessary decisions come game time.

I was playing around with the playoff generator yesterday. It's possible that we could miss the playoffs at 11-5 if our losses are to Tampa and Atlanta, but it would take the perfect combination of outcomes for that to happen. On the flip side 10-6 could get us in as well......Most outcomes I put through the system had us as the five seed at either 11-5, 12-4 or 13-3.

remember that year the Saints had to win just one of the last four games to get to the playoffs. Just one. One!

We nearly dropped 2 of the last 3. Dallas and Cincy were LUCKY pull the rabit out of the hat wins. We could go 3-0 or 0-3 in the remaining games. Neither would surprise me.

Dallas and Cincy were LUCKY
Sooooo dallas and cincy were just "lucky" to make a game out of it?
We could go 3-0 or 0-3 in the remaining games. Neither would surprise me.
So 0-3 would be no surprise at all.
WOW

I can't believe some fans have so much doubt about these last 3 games. I know 2 out of the last 3 is on the road but the Saints are a very good road team.
Baltimore is as inconsistent as they come. The only reason they have the record they have is because they have played some ok to awful offenses. They have had just enough offense to pull out their victories but they have problems running the ball & picking up blitzes. The back end of Baltimore's defense is horrible. They have been able to mask there secondary in the not so offensively strong AFC North but against strong passing teams, they will get exposed. The Ravens are not a dominate team, ok but not dominate.
The way Atlanta plays, they keep the opposing team in the game. They play ball control & have long time consuming drives. They aren't a quick strike offense that can pile points on team. They only way they create separation is if the other team gets sloppy & turns the ball over. Their defense will give up plays especially against balance offensive teams. The Saints have become much better on the ground since that first meeting.
Tampa Bay are the Rams of the NFC South. They are an ok team that has feasted on average & below average teams. They have lost to every opponent they have played that has a winning record. Yes they played Atlanta & Baltimore close but those games were close because of the reasons I listed above. Also Tampa has been bitten by the injury bug lately. Several key starters are done for the season. There is no way that they finish strong with so many key injuries. Those things always catch up with a team.
Could the Saints lose 3 of 3 or 2 of 3? Yes, its always a possibly but now that the team is totally healthy I don't see that happening. Also with so much on the line in these last 3 games, I don't think the motivator, Sean Payton, will allow this team to have any let downs.

It's official. We have an 11% chance of missing the playoffs. Wah wah.

The Saints can lose out and make the playoffs pretty easily.
