Or around 100 out of 120 for two years straight?

2008 defense was 32 out of 120 for perspective.

We would have kept Co-DC's.

I used to think that Miles ushered them out the door, but after his commitment to Crowton. . .

. . .I think we are damn lucky they got the jobs they did.

The co-DC's were no where close to being as bad as Crowton's offenses have the last 2 years

interesting point

the 2008 defense was as bad as I can remember...but the numbers do point to the 09-10 offenses being worse

yikes

Crowton is the worst offensive coordinator in the country.

32nd in the country

Can you imagine where this football team would be if it had the 32nd best offense in the country?

Funniest part is after 2007 national championship rivals had crowton ranked as 2nd best o coordinator in nation

Bad analogy. There is no one as impactful as the QB on defense.

Whether you buy it or not, Gary is getting a pass because we don't have legitimate, SEC caliber QBs.

He actually is a good OC when he has the talent (I guess this could be said of most coaches). His downfall seems to be that he can't coach up sub-par talent, particularly at QB, the most important position on the field. That's a pretty fatal flaw.

Damn that's news to me. You'd think a 4th year Junior and 3rd year Junior would be able to give you something.

Chavis doesn't have one moron on the field ruining it for the rest of the defense.

Imagine if the defense was ranked 110 instead of 32?

I agree. JL's pics led to a lot of short fields for the opposition.

Whether Tiger Nation agrees or not, I also think LM has been given GC a break because of our QB situation. Yes, JJ and JL were both highly ranked QB's coming out of HS and yes, both have been at LSU long enough to learn the system, but the coaches are probably seeing things in practice that we don't see.

Also, I suspect there are some financial considerations that factor into GC still being here. Seems like I read here last year a source claiming that LM was not allowed to realease GC because of the large money involved. I don't remember the details of his contract, but I think he was given an extension after the '07 (or '08?) season that would've made it very expensive for LSU to release him last year. I think '11 is the last year of his contract. His base pay escalates every year to a max of something like 500K next year plus $100K bonus for BCS bowl.
