say you are duck hunting in flooded timber, but your gun's camo is advantage max4-hd. does that make a huge difference? will the ducks be able to spot that gun out rather easily?

As long as it's not shiny and black you're probably fine.

People have hunted with shiny barrels for many many years. Just keep still when they're coming in
Camo is camo though. We over think that a lot
Now for turkey hunting... Over think it all!

Camo on a shotgun does two things:
1. Slows the rust down immensley in salt/brackish water marshes.
2. Makes it 20X harder to find it after taking a dump while hunting when you lay it down or lean it up against a tree.

Thats comedy right there. Well done.
I have a camo Franchi, for a couple reasons mentioned above....but as far as the duck see'n it if it were black? No chance.

hunted a black gun for 15 yrs.....never had a problem with ducks flaring from the gun.
I think you're overthinking it a little.

I have heard from a couple people that wearing bug spray can strip the camo. Anybody else have this problem?

well like i said i hunt in flooded timber where blinds aren't allowed so we stand in water bout waist deep. its big rings cut out of the flooded timber and its really really brown so i figured maybe my gun sticks out a little too much

As long as you hold your gun still you should be fine. More ducks killed with brown guns than any other.

Black is fine. Even for turkey hunting.
If you're still, you don't have to worry about it too much.

I've never had a camo gun.
Not because of price, but because I think synthetic and wood guns look better.
