No...100K plus half the gate. So it should come out to around 160ish.

Well, unless WM moved it to ULM. Then it would be about 300K for Acadiana.

Honest opinion of the game:

Slobberknocker that will be close throughout the entire game. Both defenses are outstanding and easily could shut out the other team. If WM goes conservative, Acadiana will shut them down. If Acadiana tries to just run the ball, WM will shut them down. Both teams will be forced to throw in some wrinkles, otherwise this one could literally be 7-0. I think WM's Turner is the difference. He makes 3-4 plays a game that you just shake your head and laugh. In a very close game, he'll be the X factor.

WM 24-14

JJ27 good breakdown of the game. I just want to add a few stats for the people who think its already over. Opponants seeds in the playoffs avg. Acadiana's opponants 5.5 , West Monroe 17.75 . Acadiana's (1 dimentional offense) has averaged 40 pts a game.West Monroes offense 34.5 .Acadiana's defense has given up 8.25 pts per game,West Monroe 12.2. This should be a very good game and I think the X factor will be turnovers.

Good stat addition. Shows has seemed to go ultra conservative in the playoffs. The WM starters have only played one full game. Shows knows Turner is the key and has been pulling him out at the half/first drive of the 2nd half. WM easily could have put 50+ on every team they've played so far in the playoffs if Turner/Cain play the entire game. Other than the Barbe game, WM's starters have given up 2 field goals in the playoffs. Without the 29 penalties I would give Barbe 13-15 points. 2 touchdowns were due to literally 60+ yards in penalties on each drive.

As far as seeds, not accurate way to gauge imo. No one thought Dutchtown was the #1 team No one thought Acadiana was the #27th best team in the state. WM did get an easy draw, but the Westgate seed definitely skews that average. There were no upsets in WM's opponents in the first 3 weeks.

This one is going to be a very hard hitting, ground and pound game. Kinda seems as though it should be played in sleet and mud.

I'm still pissed about that abortion of a gameplan that was the '08 Destrahan game. We should be going for our 2nd 3-peat. Oh well.

and yes, I did think that was Parkview from Bossier

5A

(4)West Monroe vs (27)Acadiana - The 2 powerhouses of 5A since 04. (Take it easy WM fans I know they were a powerhouse before 04 too.) Since 04 7 championship game apperences with 3 championships between the 2. WM wins in a great game 27-21.

4A

(1)Karr vs (6)Franklinton - IMO Karr got the easiest trip to the dome of any team this year. Magee is going to give LSU fans alot to smile about in this one. Franklinton 31-20.

3A

(5)Parkview vs (7)Patterson - This game is very exicting and should be fun. I was going to say this was the best game of the championship week but I like all the matchups. Parkview is probably the more well rounded team, but Patterson has Kenny Hilliard. Super LSU commit carries this team to the championship. 24-21

2A

(1)John Curtis vs (2)Evangel- The rubber match Evangel won last year. JC won 2 years ago. Evangel is better than the rest in 2A, but has sqweaked by the last couple and JC is stacked again. JC win 35-17.

1A

(9)Ouachita Christian vs (15)White Castle - OCS shocked me in beating SoPlaq. White Castle has been my cinderella. Something tells me OCS wins but I can't pick against White Castle. 28-27.

1st rd: 68-14
2nd rd: 28-12
3rd rd: 13-7
Semis: 8-2

5A: 22-8
4A: 22-8
3A: 22-8
2A: 25-5
1A: 24-6

My picks to win it all from the start:
5A: Dutchtown - Out
4A: Franklinton
3A: Redemptorist - Out
2A: John Curtis
1A: South Paquemines - Out

I enjoyed the Dome experience last year aside from no offense, and the worst flood in the history of Metairie.

(4)West Monroe vs (27)Acadiana- West Monroe is just too big and fast for acadiana. Acadiana doesn't have the lineman or the ability to throw the football to beat a team as good as the rebels nor the coaches to equal WM's fine staff. Plus i see acadiana fumbling the ball a couple times in this game making what should be a 14 pt win into a 35 pt blowout for WM.
4A

(1)Karr vs (6)Franklinton- Franklinton is a tough team but from what i hear Karr is also legit.I'm going to take Karr because i heard their defense is really nasty and idk much about franklinton.

3A

(5)Parkview vs (7)Patterson- Easiest pick IMHO, parkview wins easily.

2A

(1)John Curtis vs (2)Evangel- Evangel wins by playing keep away from John Curtis' vaunted veer offense with a balanced spread offense.

1A

(9)Ouachita Christian vs (15)White Castle- White Castle is playing great right now but i don't see them beating OCS who has a great team every year it seems

Congrats to all the teams making the finals and another great year of high school football!

PBS dominated Patterson in Lumberjack land last year in the quarters.

This year, PBS will do more of the same. PBS defense is much, much better than last year, and Patterson will have a VERY difficult time scoring.

I know, we just scored 31 on one of the best defenses in the state using the crappy Veer offense.

Acadiana has played out of it's mind during the last stretch of the season but to be accurate, the Acadiana OFFENSE didn't score 31 on STM because their defense scored 2 TDs.

From a matchup standpoint, West Monroe is the one team best suited to slow Acadiana's offense down. Also, I think WM has the advantage in the fact that they can win games in different ways however, this Acadiana team seems to be more explosive than some of the others. They have ways of shaking people loose. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Acadiana beats them.

Exactly the reason West Monroe has slipped from #12 to #18 in the USA Today Poll, while winning. This guy that is over that poll has no clue.

do you know anything about acadiana??? The coaching staff is one of the best if not they best in 5a. We also do have linemen .. our O-line is most likely the stringest in the state.. go ahead underestimate Coach davidson and his team if u do you must like the color silver

now to everyone else.. I am very excited about this game should be a thriller 2 great programs at it again. Will be an epic game. Have a safe trip to nola
