In full disclosure, I waited tables for a couple years, so my tolerance towards food stablishment people not always living up to par is pretty lenient. I honestly don't remember the last time I complained to anyone (manager/server) about service at a restaurant.

Last night I went to Buffalo Wild Wings, I knew I was asking for it, but I had a hankerin for some mango habanero boneless wings to-go. I called up, a barely able to talk dude answered the phone, took my order of 12 boneless wings, and said "that'll be ready in fifteen minutes." Resigned to the fact that the to-go counter employees are just awful at BWW, I knew it'd take longer than that, so I get up there (literally, I timed it because I'm that anal) 33 minutes after I ordered my food. The employee leaning on her elbows just basically ignored me, and the other girl working, who could also barely speak english, took my payment, and said it's not ready yet. The place was not busy for BWW, about half full...maybe. Finally after 40 minutes from the time I ordered, I got my food. Am I wrong for thinking 40 minutes is excessive for 12 bites of fried chicken chunks even at BWW? I saw one manager, who looked like Seth from American History X, but with a greasy, Elvis hair cut, (I swear...seriously, it was awful), and said why bother.

Would you have complained in that situation? I was livid, but didn't say anything.

ETA: I'll go ahead, and "cool story bro" myself to save someone the time.

I don't think I've ever asked for a manager

Considering it was BWW, I probably wouldn't have complained. Probably wouldn't have done any good anyway.

I have complained one time in the past 4 years. I had a few situations where I should have ratted out a shitty employee, but I just let it go.

That's exactly what I thought. I seriously had my speech worked out, so I would sound like I knew what I was talking about, but didn't want to come off like a huge dick. Yes, I'm that guy that thought out what I wanted to say.

went to Pluckers one night after the bar. got there around 1:30 and ordered pretty quickly. Buddies order the giant mug of beer while we wait which were taken from them at 1:55 because people can't drink after 2 in this town. We waited until about 2:50, after asking whats up with our food 3 or 4 times, and started to walk out. As I got to the door our waitress was bringing the food out with a dejected look on her face seeing us leave. I felt bad so we went back in and ate.

We were the only table in the restaurant that waited anywhere near that long. there were multiple tables that got there after us ate and left 20 minutes before we got our food.

Haven't been back since although I didn't go all that much to start with.

You can always generally tell that the servers at Plucker's don't give a frick, but I've never had awful service there. I've never been there when it was ever hugely busy though.

I've never complained at a restaurant, but I definitely remember bad food or service and don't go back.

Do you never go back...ever? I always say that I won't go back, but they're the closest to me, and I like to eat wings every now and then. The one time I went to Wing Zone, the service was even worse. I really feel like I'm part of the problem, that I settle for shitty service because it's so expected at some places.

Only once at Antoine's on Christmas Eve. I have a large extended family and we had the Proteus and Hermes rooms designated for like thirty-five people. We ordered two magnums of Chateau Lafitte and they were vinegar. To their credit they alleviated the situation and provided us with a suitable replacement. Service issues are never a concern, unless aggregious. $ 1,000.00 dollars of wine is in that boat for sure.

Never complained but I worked restaurants in New Orleans for almost 7 yrs (LeRuth's, Willy Coln's, Berdou's, Chez Pierre) and saw many get tossed out...usually for complaining too much and being a dick about it.

You're definitely right to say something about that. I've definitely said something if I've gotten a bad bottle of wine, but was never a dick about it. I'm really just talking about straight up service.

I agree. I have no idea why people complain. If there is a legit problem, most places will take care of it. Antoine's had to throw 1,000.00 worth of wine down the toilet.

Rarely, but I don't consider BWW a restaurant. It a a place that sell stuff some people can eat. Seriously, I lower my expectations tremendously in fast food chains, the pool they hire from is the bottom of the barrel.

Only one time have I felt I needed to complain.

We went to a place in Destin during Spring Break and the waiter was AWFUL. I wanted to get the Lobster Ravioli, and asked him some questions about it.. mainly because I've had it before where it's appetizer sized and other times where it's a large dish. Since I was pretty hungry, I wanted to know simply how much you get.

He announced to the table that I was a little diva with an attitude and pretended to be joking. Every time he'd ask someone if something was okay, he'd turn to me and say "Is it okay with YOU if I bring them _______?" .. basically acting like I am a bitch for asking a question.

He continued being a complete idiot and took TWO HOURS after we finished eating to bring boxes and the check. I am not even kidding. We were served and ate within 45 minutes and spent 2 hours waiting on the check.

He was so rude and stupid that we literally left pennies. Each of us.

I got online to get the number to the restaurant and found a complaint/suggestion box. As I read the reviews, every person said they had a terrible experience and that when they complained to the owner, she hung up on them and told them it was their fault. So I didn't bother complaining.

Other than that time, I never really have much to complain about. I'm not picky and while there are things I might prefer, I never complain about them unless they're dramatically altering my dining experience.

I only complain at nice restaurants because I know that my complaint will not fall on deaf ears, they will go out of their way to rectify the problem. At BWW, complaining will just get saliva in your food.

I went to italian place by my house and ordered an eggplant and seafood dish and it was like a crab take in a eggplant. "Was not was I was expecting". The waiter came up and she said, "how is it." I was like good but not what I expected but still good. Next thing I know I have the chef out hammering me about ,"What is so wrong with your meal. What did you actually expect!" Left a twenty dollar tip and left. Never will I go back
