He looked to be the better of all the backs the Saints had out there tonight.

Does he become the primary carrier next week?

Pittsburgh is never an easy team to run on but he gave it a good effort.

Betts always seemed to frick up by fumbling or running the wrong play. Jones has been here less time and doesn't do that. Once Reggie and Pierre get back Betts should definitely get cut before Jones.

I never was crazy about Jones even coming out of college but I will say, he's the only back we have right now who can make people miss. Im not saying he's great at it but, Betts can't make anyone miss, and Ivory often seeks out contact on some plays, and other plays it seems he's not seeing where he's going. He ran up the back of a lineman at least twice tonight and neither time did he look like he had to.

I haven't seen enough of JJ for the Saints, but I agree overall. Betts is so spotty in his play and has looked worse and worse.

yeah, and even tho there was no running room he fell forward

Ivory looked like a 2 year old with no control running into a wall

Betts style of running is to just try and run away for no gain

Not sure about Jones' pass blocking, but he looked to be an able body receiver as well.

Lynch ain't doin shite in Seattle, maybe the "kid" is not as bad as everybody thought.

Yeah I totally agree with this. The dude runs hard but he just simply isnt a very smart runner.

I'd like him to see him get more carries

he runs better than Ivory and Betts, IMO

I can't fault him for that. The hit by Polamalu was cheap as frick

if that play gets called correctly we're not talking about this today

His running style is similar to Bush. I almost confuse them in uniform. Julius actually stays north south better which could really help him fit this system in the long run. I hope he stays around and they try to develop him.

The 3 backs that are sharing the load right now have had their games.. Betts had a good game or two and has slumped off.. Same with Ivory. I think DCs are picking up on who is running well and zeroing in on them because they know the best back will get the most touches. Ivory couldn't hardly get anywhere last night.. JJ on the other hand looked alright. When Bush and PT get back, Betts will need to find employment elsewhere. Ivory and JJ will probably duke it out for that remaining 3rd spot.

I dont think we are going to put much stock into developing a 29 year old cast-off RB....
