No...but you have to run a sub 7:00 minute mile or else your getting smoked every day...no pun intended with all of the medicinal MaryJane shops

The anti-Miles crowd is not in the minority

That 4th and 6 play defines Miles football for me. Confusion, chaos and frustration
1. defensive problems from '08 have been fixed, promptly and decisvely.
2. offense has improved. not much but there is demonstrable improvement. last year there was no running game. this year, lsu is a solid running team.
3. the program has had no major infractions and personal issues are at a minimum, which is an incredible feat in the sec.
4. graduation rates are acceptable
5. miles' record over 5 seasons rivals the very best in the sec over the last 3 decades.
6. miles' recruiting is exceptional
7. most importantly, attendance is high and money is flowing.
the suits probably think of the end of the '09 ole miss game or the tenn game as speed bumps. they're not concerned with disgruntled internet armchair coaches. if the football program is evaluated as a business, then it's in very good hands with miles. the positives far, far outweigh the negatives

Did you just say Miles would steal our recruits at CU? Players come here to play for LSU not Miles. Evn Dinardo had some good classes, You Les Miles lovers kill me, there is no way you cant see that he isnt a great coach
NO KIDDING. Les Miles going to CU would put the final nail in the coffin that is Les Miles coaching resume. Let's see how many Top 10 recruiting classes Miles gets at Colorado

BS.... No way that's happening.
After he gets thumped by Hurricane Cameron there will be Gumps calling for Saban's scalp.

Maybe its because I have never lived anywhere but Louisiana or maybe its because not everyday you give up 2 million dollors a year, but I do not see Les leaving LSU for Colorado.
Then again Les could go all "Mad Hatter/Lesticles" and make a closed door deal with Colorado to become the next coach for 2 mill a year given that he tanks the rest of this year and LSU fires him allowing him to get his buyout.
Maybe we need to stop thinking about how pretty Boulder is and how much Les is hated in BR and think a little more like the Mad Hatter.

Denver is a nice city but there are areas that have been taken over by the wets (illegals). They have their own little sections of Denver and you better know Spanish if you go into these parts.

I certainly haven't conducted a scientific poll, but anecdotally, I don't know of a single Miles supporter who is still on board. Ole Miss flipped most of them. Penn State flipped a few more, and Tennessee flipped the rest. These are just people I know. I guess all of your friends are happy with Les. Good for you.

I don't base my assessment of coaches on whether or not the positives outweigh the negatives. I base it on what I see on Saturdays. Process, not results. Les' results are fantastic. No argument from me on that; however, it is the manner in which he has achieved the results that concerns me. Logic tells me that if he continues to manage games this way, his next 6 years won't even come close to equalling his first 6. If you like what you see on the field, good for you. I don't. I realize this type of analysis is lost on the results only crowd.
We can do better than Les Miles. How is this so hard to understand?

Who is gonna make the Miles send off video for Colorado

I hope he stays also. Does he frustrate the hell out of me, hell yes, but so did Saban when we would get a lead and then sit on it and hope the defense would hold up.
I look around college football and I do not see a great program. Yes there are some good coaches out there but they all have their faults. Miles has issues with time management and game day adjustments but he is an excellent recruiter and a good game planner.
Look around college football:
U Meyer: Did not win before Tebow was there and he is struggling now.
B Stoops: When was the last time he won a big game? Not to mention he botched the end of the Mizzu game last week.
P Carroll: Yes he won, but look at the problems he left USC.
C Peterson at Boise St: He plays no one and half of his damn trick plays would blow up in his face against SEC speed.
One consistant coach I see is Mack Brown. He spits out 10 win seasons year in and year out yet he has only 1 NC. Something tells me people in this town would find a way to bitch about that.

You don't think Saban has a good program running at Alabama? Chip Kelly at Oregon? Chris Peterson at Boise St? Gary Patterson at TCU?

Because of all the criticism coming from our fan base concerning Les there will be other teams very interested in a coach with Les' record and the fact he recruits top 5 every year and runs a clean program. Get a clue NegaTigers!

Night Train...you have obviously never been to Boulder...very wealthy college town right on the foothills/flatirons...I grew up in New Orleans and went to LSU as did my entire family...but this place is absolutely beautiful

I've read a lot comparing LSU and Baton Rouge to CU and Boulder. I was born and raised right outside Boulder and came to LA and LSU after high school and have been been here for 5 years. I use to spend my summers in LA so I have a lot of experience at both places. Most of my high school friends and my little brother go to CU. I was talking to them and they would all be VERY happy to get Les Miles. They all don't understand why LSU fans hate Les Miles. They think he makes mistakes but they like him.
As far as comparing Boulder to BR, both have pros and cons. Boulder no doubt has better weather, beautiful scenery, snowboarding and skiing not far, its clean. Things there are efficient unlike LA. Wal-Marts and fast food trips are not a pain in the arse like in LA. Fast food actually means fast food unlike in LA where you could be the only person in the damn place and have to wait 20 minutes and they still frick up your order. In 18 years the only theft I dealt with was my bike was stolen, but that was more my fault. In 5 years here my good buddy has been mugged, my apt has been broken into, my car stereo has been stolen, and I've heard a lot of stories from friends about apt break ins and other robberies. Boulder has crime but not nearly like BR.
However Boulder has SOOOOOOO many hippies and weird people. They dress weird, smell wierd, and act weird. Drinking is bigger here, but drugs are bigger there. It is cold as hell at times. If you go to the bars you have to bundle up to get there and once your in the bar you sweat your balls off and can't do anything with your warm clothes. BR has better bars, hotter women, and MUCH better food. You have to wait until your 21 to do anything in CO.
As far as football goes. Les Miles would not leave LSU to go to CU. Football there is not huge. They storm the field when they beat shitty teams. They really only care about 2 games, Colorado State and Nebraska. CO high school football is not good at all, they dont produce any recruits. Folosom Field holds just over 50,000 and their fans aren't nearly as passionate. CU by no means what so ever compares to LSU when it comes to football and that is why Miles would only go there unless he got fired.
People always ask me after college if I'm going back to Boulder or staying in LA. I always say once I am old and want to settle down I'll move back to CO. Right now I love football, passing a good time, and eating good food and their is no better place then Louisiana for that. I have a feeling Les would feel the same. Unless LSU fires Miles he would never take a pay cut to go try to rebuild a program when he already has one of the most prestigous jobs in the country. But who knows

1. what you see on saturdays, "the process", is a ton of wins in the toughest conference.
2. coaches that are universally considered better than miles - richt, tedford, mack brown, pete carrol, tressel, bob stoops, schiano, ferentz, etc. how are things working out for those coaches? carrol cheated bigtime. neither brown, stoops nor tressel can win the big one even though getting to the ncg is practically handed to them. schiano and tedford dropped off the face of the earth. ferentz has had some mediocre seasons. miles is holding his own with the "greats".
quote:i know that all teams can't win all the time. even great coaches go through tough times. just ask urban meyer. do you think florida should fire him?

I think a change of scenery would be good for both LSU and Leslie.
