Boulder Tiger
You are correct I've never been to Boulder and wasn't commenting on Boulder. I have been to parts of Denver for work and like alot of big cities it has problem areas. I was commenting on how the wets have taken over small areas and needing to speak Spanish. If anybody disagrees you don't know what you're talking about.

That is very true about parts of Denver

Debatable. Bars and women maybe, but the James Beard awards kind of settle the food debate pretty quick.
Just little ole Aspen by itself would demolish BR.

Never been there. Boulder does have good food. Lot of good burger places, good sandwich places, chipotle, and good places for healthy food. But I guess it all depends on test. I really like boiled crawfish, shrimp, crab and other seadfood. I also like love gumbo, etouffee, red beans and rice. Basically all cajun food, so that is why I would say BR has better food, but I agree...debatable

If Miles stays at LSU, he could very easily be fired after one more year (Oregon@neutral site, @WVU, Auburn, @Bama, @MooState, Florida--all will be tough games) especially with no QB (even if Mettenberger comes in, he will have to adjust), new offensive coordinator, and loss of key defensive players.
At Colorado, he would be guaranteed four years before anyone even looked up to see how he was doing. If he could get the team to a bowl game by then, he'd at the very least have 6 or 7 years. If he got them to 8-4 and a bowl game, he could retire there. At his age (56), I'd think that would have to be a consideration.
I'm sure he cares about the money, but I think he might care about keeping a job (even at a lower pay) more.

what other kind of crowd should there be?
I was right. Completely lost.
Why bother watching the games? Just tell me who won, that's all I should care about right?
Does it matter to you that we could do better? Or, is failing to recognize when the clock starts and stops, and watching helplessly as your team implodes against Ole Miss, Penn State and Tennessee as good as it needs to be for you?

they cant afford MILES.
Miles would get more to be fired, than they can pay him.
I find this discussion ludicrous. If LSU beats Bama, they can finish 11-1. That would put them in the Sugar Bowl if Auburn wins out.
Bama will be favored by 4. Its not going to be easy, but its certainly doable. Bama is still in the hunt for both SEC champ and BCS national champ, so Saban is pointing for this game.
Les goes 11-1 by beating both Saban and Meyers. You guys will be crying in your beer if Miles takes the Colorado job.
Meyers is on TV confessing that his boys lose because they will not practice well.

Learning Spanish would just be the first step in a LONG process of educating your ignorant butt

He can stay and wait to be fired and go get a job in the MAC and end up with more NET than if he bolts for Colorado.
He's from Ohio. There are a shite load of Ohio players he can recruit for a MAC team. I would not be surprised to see him take his MAC undefeated champ to the Sugar Bowl in 2013, while LSU goes 9-3 under Gonzo and plays in the Chik fil A again.

I don't think he or anyone would take a massive pay cut but I can see Les taking 2-2.5 million with some extra from the boosters and sliding out of town.
I doubt it. I actually think this may be the best outcome for him but he knows his job is safe for the duration of the contract.
Those wanting Miles to be fired are dreaming and delusional. Will he leave? Depends ....you can never tell about human behavior but unless something drastic happens Miles job is safe.

Boulder Tiger, hate to waste other peoples time but where do you live in Lafayetee?
I have good buddies that live on Baseline right across from the Indian Peaks golf course and another good buddy that lives in Blue Heron on 95th.

Denver is a nice city but there are areas that have been taken over by the wets (illegals). They have their own little sections of Denver and you better know Spanish if you go into these parts.

no doubt. AND you have this in any major metro area.

quote:Well said. Miles appears to be a guy who genuinely cares about his family. They've lived and have friends in Boulder, so the transition would be relatively easy. None of us know the value they place on family vs an extra $2 mill a year. At some point, you could say the money is enough and I want my family in a less stressful environment.
Will he leave? Depends ....you can never tell about human behavior but unless something drastic happens Miles job is safe.
All of that being said, I give a move to CU a 0.01% chance.

im not one to really call for miles's head. i don't think hes done a bad job here. i do think he is overpaid for what he brings to the table though. he is a good coach that runs a clean program (at least relatively). he also isnt given as much credit as he is due. at the same time, he is given more credit than he is due.
i dont wish him gone, but it wouldnt necessarily be a terrible thing if he did leave. i dont know if we really could replace him with someone better. my only wish is that if for whatever reason he does decide to leave, let it be known with ample time to find a replacement. god forbid all the haters get what they wish for but not what they want and we get stuck with an absolute dud for a coach.

Is there any chance our AD whispers to him that it would be a good idea to take a look?
Leaving for a place like CU is not some disgrace and could be easily spun as a place he wants to be.

The ones that live in Blue Heron are the Hazelwoods. My friend's name is Justin and I don't really remember his parents name. But I think they live on Genny Street or Ginny Street something like that. That is crazy that you live there, I have hung out in Blue Heron many times. I also have spent countless hours playing pick up basketball, football, soccer, and ice skating at that YMCA
