Anyone else think Jim Hawthorne should quit the Les Miles Show?

I enjoy his game play by plays, but as the host of the Les Miles show he is TERRIBLE. He tries to control what is asked, and if he doesn't agree with the question he will ignore/cut you off. Miles needs to be hit hard with legit questions, and Hawthorne's "good ole LSU boy bias" NEVER allows it.

I want answers just as much as the next guy, but other than the temporary personal satisfaction of calling miles out I can't see anything positive coming from the head coach getting called out by a fan on a live radio conference broadcast to the entire state (and possibly all over ESPN the next morning).

Thats his job, and thats what he's paid to do. The show isn't here to answer tough questions from the fans, its purely for entertainment.

Its not Hawthorne's call, its the athletic department that tells him what to do. And the show is no different from any of the hundreds of "coaches shows" across the country. You should listen to them

sons personally I think that the Tigers need a younger voice speaking for them. enough of these older guys who half the time don't have a clue WTF they are talking about.

There's your first problem.

I listen to him on the radio and watch the game on TV with the mute on.

He is horrible in spotting the ball - always at least three yards off on a play - "into the line for no gain" when the play obviously gained three yards. If you were only listening on the radio, you would have a distorted view of what was happening and be confused at the down/yardage situation.

Yeah, when the other team completes a pass and he says "he's WIDE open and has plenty of running room, the Tigers FINALLY drag him down." I'm thinking they just broke a long play and then he says, "That brings up 2nd and 6."

FIFY and "yes."

Hawthorn gets too excited when the other team makes a big play; it's very, very, annoying and frustrating to listen to. He is also too quick to go into catastrophe mode when things don't go well for LSU. But back to the Les Miles Show - it's gotten to the point that only sunshine pumpers are allowed call into the radio show.

The only reason I pay attention the Les Miles show now is to hear if anyone gets through and throws a tough question or very critical comment on Miles.

Because quite frankly, aside from that, the show is boring.

Not only this but also the live broadcast of Tiger Football as well. He is as ignorant of the rules, schemes, and techniques of football as he was when he started in 1983!!!

Do you think that you're ever going to get any real info from a coach's show like that? You've got to screen otherwise there's no telling what'll be said.
I like Hawthorne ok, but I don't listen to the coach's show, and I can't remember the last time that I listened to a game via radio.

I do remember Jim saying this a lot though "my oh my"

Years ago, me and a couple of buds would go every week to the Jerry Stovall radio show. Not a whole lot of people went back then, and during breaks he was very candid with questions we had...Once he'd go back on the air, not so much.

He constantly miscalls pass (in)completions and interceptions. I have been advocating a new play by play guy for 15 years. Just not good enough for a top 20 program. Let him continue to do baseball and softball as Charles Hanagriff does a good job of correcting him regularly(baseball only). For those of you who thinks he does a good job, listen to the radio while you watch the game. It doesn't look like the same game if you kow anything about football.

Someone making $3.75 million per year should be held responsible. Evidently, Aleva won't call Miles out so we just sit here and watch our team go to shite?

LSU deserves a better "Voice of the Tigers". Listening to Kent Lowe before the game, and Jim during the game is very painful.
