Did Auburn's win over Arkansas give them that much of a boost to jump LSU in the BCS even though LSU closed the human poll margin?

LSU didn't close the human poll margin, rather AU expanded it. AU had a 40 vote edge on LSU last week and have over a 100 vote edge this week, expanding their advantage by nearly 3 times.

I can't say for sure, but I would expect the Harris to follow and AU to close the computer gap enough (and maybe surpass LSU) so that AU has the lead in the BCS. (Not that it matters)

Duh. I completely whiffed on the number of votes. Brain fart.

I'm just hoping LSU can move up to #5 so ESPN has to talk about us tonight.

Really thorough analysis. Thank you. I can't get over my sense that Oregon and Boise don't belong in the top five. TCU and Bama, yes. Auburn and LSU in the top ten, yes. Until next week. One will fall.

Where AU and LSU are ranked to each other does not matter because we play each other this week. One will lose.

I don't understand why people are trying to argue this point.

That is mine and I am basing it on SoS so far this year. That is why I am giving the nod to Auburn as #1 but not by much because of the Coaches poll giving them a higher rank in their poll.

that's a horrible projection, fwiw. Like not even close to being correct.

sorry. first time reading the thread and I saw that the last post thought he might be correct.

I think LSU will be higher than 6th... maybe 4th or 5th. With both the Coaches' and Harris having us at 6th it seems inevitable that we'll get a bump from the computers.

LSU is #6 in the polls, but #5 AU is effectively 1.5 spots above them in the polls. That would be a lot of help from the computers...and AU should do well in the computers. TCU is #4 in the polls and okay in the computers. The rest of the teams have a huge lead in the polls.

It isn't impossible, but I don't see LSU higher than 6. The top 5 should be pretty close.

it doesnt really matter what boise st. is ranked tonight. they will fall as their schedule gets weaker and the BCS schools will improve in the rankings as they go through the meat of their schedules.
