There are some chocolate almonds that are the most addictive things I've ever eaten.

Almonds are high in monounsaturated fat, though, which is good for you. Almonds are a perfectly acceptable snack food.

The only downside to the Blue Diamond ones (I love the wasabi soy flavor) is that they have a lot of sodium. Other than that, almonds are a healthy snack. Try some almond butter from Whole Foods.

You should start with fruit....or maybe some whole grain cereal.

Agree. If you're anything like me, fruit will not satisfy you in any way and you'll still be starving. For some reason, I can't eat fruit unless I'm just not hungry because it doesn't satisfy my hunger at all.

I found this online:

5 HEALTHY SNACKS THAT FILL YOU UP

quote:

Pistachios are referred to as the “skinny nut” because the shells help us subconsciously cut calories without deprivation. How? Studies show that the shell makes the serving size appear larger and fools our brains into thinking we’re full. Plus, the used shells act as a visual reminder of how much you’ve eaten.

Nutritionally, 30 pistachios (or 49 nuts per 1-ounce serving) contain 100 calories and have 6 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber. The combination of protein, fiber, and unsaturated fats provides enhanced satiety. Get more information at pistachiohealth.com.

I eat pistachios, but they have to be at least a little salty...I don't care for them salt free.

If you want to stay with nuts, Cashews are cheap as dirt these days and taste better than almonds.

If you want to switch to a healthier snack I recommend apples or bananas.

I'm a fan of pistachios chopped up and smothered in syrup on a baklava

agree 100%

stick with the almonds..they'll fill you up and the benefits are great.

try the produce sectino of the supermarket..sometimes they have bulk roasted almonds for like $7.

and yep..i'm addicted to the wasabi ones as well..i try to limit how often i buy those.

almonds >>>>>>>>>>> chips as a snack.

I love almonds, I drink almond milk, but almond butter is terrible IMO. Just go with any brand peanut butter that uses Valencia Peanuts.

And yes almonds do have fat, but its good fat and your body/cells need good fat.

I guarantee you no one ever became overweight eating almonds

i love almond butter; i keep both peanut and almond butter around so that i can alternate them as the spread on my morning bagel. incidentally, half a bagel w/ a little peanut/almond butter is a great, filling snack.

combine the following:
greek yogurt +
handful of almonds +
handful of kashi cereal or granola +
little bit of honey drizzled over the top

also good with some type of berries thrown in the mix
