THIS. LSU should have a real advantage here. UF's starting kicker is out for 2 months....If it comes down to FGs, I like our chances for sure....

You know there is a large difference between being a realist and a pessimist, right?

They will score more, because our offense will suck as usual and put the defense on the field for extended periods of time. Therefore, the defense will get tired in the 4th quarter and have two TD's scored on them.

Two good teams with flaws. However, playing in the Swamp doesn't help, plus I think Meyer will have the Gators pumped to play their best in order to:
• Redeem themselves after the Bama game
• Avoid consecutive losses
• Avoid losing to a home crowd the week after getting whupped in T-town
This will be a very tough game for our team.

Sure, it will be a tough game, no question....

But I still think Florida is a shell of it's former self. We have a much better shot at them this season than last- even if it is at the swamp.

Based on Offensive and Defensive scoring averages for both teams, we will win if it is a low scoring game. We will lose if it is high scoring affair. I just don't see this thing turning into a high scoring game( Upper 20s to Upper 30s).

so you lost already. you're not a realist...you are a quitter. the teams are pretty evenly matched and anything can happen. also....if Myers is such a genius, how come he can't coach up his center and teach him how to snap the ball?

This.

Turnovers: Florida is just about leading the country in fumbles/fumbled snaps. Our D line is going to create some problems with Nevis over Pouncey.

And this.

Our offense may be one-dimensional, but Florida thus far has no semblance of offense. At least we do know that we can run the ball. And Nevis over Pouncey is going to be a HUGE advantage for us.

This will be a contest to determine who has the worst offense. UF's OL was terrible against Bama. I don't have a great amount of hope.

In Game Adjustments: Florida
Game prep and plan: even
Turnovers: push

We have too much talent on defense

Have people seen Florida's offense. Compare it to LSU:

(UF v LSU)
TOTAL YDS/GM: 340 v 326
YARDS/PLAY: 5.2 v 5.3
RUSH YDS/GM: 152 v 195
PASS YDS/GM: 189 v 131
POINTS/GM: 31.4 v 24.4

Pretty ugly as well, particularly when you factor in Florida's schedule.

uf offense vs lsu defense = lsu
lsu offense vs uf defense = uf
special teams = lsu
intangibles = uf (good sec teams don't usually lose two in row)
penalties = about even

i think the game is decided by turnovers. if lsu plays the way they did against tenn with lee at qb, tigers win. turnovers = gators win.

Thanks for the input guys... I will reply on Sunday with where my predictions were on/off.

Understand...I love LSU and will pull for them to the end...but after the OM game last year, I was done with Miles and last week nearly sent me over the edge.

I AM a realist in my predictions...6:30pm game in the Swamp against a pissed off Gator team that will get amped up in front of their home crowd equals an X factor for Florida. Is that what I want to happen...NO. But LSU under Miles has not been the most consistent, "mentally strong" team when we have played at Florida. They have the advantage. Can we win? Sure. Will we? Hope so. My money says Meyer gets his team up to play LSU and will game plan circles around Miles/Crowton... hope I'm wrong.

Agreed. It'll be very interesting to see how our team responds to the events of this past week, playing a competitive and highly motivated team on the road.

I agree.

Saban used to teach us that Championship teams play with:
-"relentless effort"
-"sound fundamentals"...ie blocking and tackling
-"mental strength"...especially when you are on the road in the SEC...

I think we have the first one, but the last two need work from coaching...JMO
