My buddy wanted to go to WV game so he bought us both a ticket in the end zone lower bowl for $35 a piece. This was 4 hours before game time. I had told all along to wait 5 min before kickoff. Anyway we started really enjoying the tailgate and decided about an hour before kickoff we would stay at the tailgate and watch on TV. So my buddy tries to sell the 2 tix for what he paid and he is getting under priced by $10 by others. This was a top 25 matchup no less. In years past you couldn't get anywhere in the lower bowl for $25-$35 a ticket.

When determining whether LSU is losing the interest of fans you need to look no further than the supply/demand economics being played out on the corner of Stadium and Nicholson!!!!

I kind of want Joe Alleva to walk around after the game. People are so fed up with the product. The win over WV felt like a loss outside the stadium. It's very frustrating. People will give you the 4-0 nonsense. The difference is, we're not rising from the ashes and building. We are declining and everyone can feel it.

LSU fans deserve another 4 years of Curley Hallman.

Spoiled rotten brats.

I think what he is trying to get at is that people are being real close to fed up with this team and the way things are playing out.

Therefore, people will not pay a premium price to see what is being put on the field.

I love these responses. Go to one of the darkest eras in LSU football to excuse the play now. I was there for that. It wasn't pretty. We were also not paying the money for coaches, facilities, and tickets that we are now.

Know Your History:

The first thing Saban did when he got here was put together plans for the Football Operations Center & the Cox Student Athlete Center. LSU had fallen behind and we needed these things to attract top flight recruits from across the country. And now everything is here.

Please don't excuse poor results by finding something that is worse. That's not how you create success.

Eventually Alleva will notice what is happening, but it will not be because of ticket sales. The concession sales are not good in general when people are not enjoying games and really not good when people leave really early. $$$$$ talks.

Problem in most that bought tickets from when Saban was around until now are mostly bandwagon fans that got on board when it was "cool" to get LSU tickets. The true fans have had them for a long time or got them becuase they truly want to see LSU play live. Those who mostly sell are those fans...

Watch you will see the same thing with the Saints in a few years.

I've seen tickets selling for less than $20 or even being given away for Florida or Alabama games in the past 10 years. You just have to know where to look. In 2007, for the Florida game, someone gave me 2 East Side 35 yard line seats on row 35 a week before the game. It happens. Get over it. LSU got their money when the game sold-out. I promise you, the season ticket waiting list is not getting shorter, it is getting longer.

By the way, when it looks like rain and the temps are above 80 degrees, tickets have always been really cheap in September.

Nope. Just educated fans who realize we started out 4-0 the last two years so it doesn't mean crap when your offense is going to cost you at least 4 loses later in the year.

At least some of those games we had the excitement of winning a game we weren't supposed to. No we eek out wins.

I agree that people are spoiled, but the total cost of of season tickets (4 tix and 1 parking pass) during the Hallman era didn't amount to 13% of the median annual income for a household in the parish.

I really don't get statements like this.

Should fans, who are now paying prices double what they were paying then, expect less?

Should Saints fans automatically revert back to the early '80s thinking just because they won a Super Bowl?

Or should both fan bases hold the programs accoutable for putting the best product on the field at all times? This a business! We the consumers should demand that we get the best for our money. People are upset right now, not because they are winning ugly, but because when the meat of the schedule gets here, this team will NOT continue winning.

The fans see it coming.

Basically if LSU were 4-0 having won games 49-35, people would be ecstatic. They don't want to see a championship level defense, they really don't care about the defense, they just want to see high-powered offense.

LSU fans aren't as knowledgeable about football as they want to believe.

Defense wins championships.

Hell, why even play the next 4 games? Let's just forfeit and get on to recruiting.
