Yeah LE, I'm down 140 pounds after almost 3 years. I'm just full of excuses. What are yours? When was the last time you were willing to post your weight on here? All you do is troll.

As far as me, I haven't gained weight in 2 years.

Good way of looking at it
I do my cardio on the elliptical. I usually jam out to some music or get lost in my thoughts for half an hour
It's just part of my day now

ive tried many times, I just can't get into it on a machine. But if I go take a walk, an hour flies by really fast and I get my cardio in.

actually myth dropped his goal about 3 or 4 times. originally i think it was 185..he got all the way down to what..159? thats damn impressive.
so what if he's up from that low. that's almost impossible for anyone to maintain long term.

Actually, my original goal was 220. Then I dropped it to 200. Then I wanted to be under 200 so 185. Then 175. Then 165.
For shits and giggles I want to crack 159 but wanted to settle between 165 and 175.
At my low point, 2 ladies at my office asked me to stop because I looked sick and gaunt.
A doctor at my church told me I needed to gain 20 pounds.
I do want to drop about 10 pounds that I gained last month chowing down on MREs and I think a stationary bike is about the only way I will be able to long term get decent exercise. There just isn't enough daylight when I work from 6am to 6:15pm.
I'm never going to be a straight line same weight kind of person. I am always going to be peaks and valleys. Up down up down.

I wear a medium shirt. I can fit in a small. Snug yes, but I can put it on. When I started XXXL was getting a little snug.
LE can hate all he wants. I'm happy. Surprised by the vitriol over the stationary bike. I'm actually pumped up. Certainly better than nothing which is what I would do if I don't have it.

fwiw i was just giving you my thoughts on it.
but unlike LEs snide 'bike riding is easy' comment, i actually do intervals and specific training routines on it that are absolutely MISERABLE.
if i just spent 30 minutes spinning at an easy pace (which isn't that hard if you're watching netflix on your laptop or something) its pretty easy. you still get something out of a 30 minute spin..it get the heart rate up if nothing else.
didnt mean to sound like a negative nelly..i just prefer to ride outside whenever possible (even in the dark like tonight...)
more power to you myth.

Downward trend continues. Amazing what happens when you don't eat everything in sight. I did something this morning I haven't done before work in months. I got up and made breakfast. I'm just trying to recreate some of my old good habits.

Nice read on the effects of "chronic cardio", and what really constitutes that term. In my eyes it appears that some people in the paleo\primal community totally shun cardiovascular exercises like running/jogging. This article to me establishes a moderate threshold for that type of activity. It also makes room for a great deal of other things.

i wish he had also looked at the level of intensity as part of this study. given the hype over HIT workouts, does the additional 'post workout' calorie burn count towards his 4000 calorie ideal?
i will have to give up competitive cycling at some point..its just too hard to keep up the routine to make a difference at races. one more season..i'm going to push really hard..then retire to more enjoyable club rides and centuries that aren't nearly as intense.

I inherited a medical scale when my granny passed. So I know my fatness is accurate. I am still down six pounds but the medicine other side effects were too much so no easy weight loss for me this time. Still trying to make good choices all the time.

yeah those things are pretty useless. i have a heartrate monitor, power meter (measures actual work you're doing) and upload this all to a website called trainingpeaks that breaks it all down and analyzes it (including age, weight, body fat% etc) and even with all that, the calorie count is still pretty much guesswork.

Body fat % and actual sizes are the best way to measure your health; everyone is different. 220 for me may still be fat where some guys could be 220 and healthy.
