Perhaps he should get some snaps at offense. Our current recieving core seems to have the drops lately killing drives. RR is the only sure handed reciever we've got. Let PP get that third down catch for us to keep the chains moving. The guy can catch anything and has the wheels to make a play after the catch. It would also bolster his Heisman campaign. Why not?
What say ye?

Just a crucial third down here and there. He cramps alot so obviously not every down the whole game.

What makes you think he can run a route properly? More to being a receiver than just having good hands.

What else can we throw on PP's back? Maybe he can play qb and coach the team. I agree he can do it all, but the guy does have limits.

Using Miles's logic, this is a complete waste of time to utilize PP as we don't have Favre as QB, so it's impossible to convert these anyway.

This isn't single A high school ball.
Patrick Peterson cannot play D, O and special teams without a break.

Even Tim Tebow couldn't have played both ways.

What makes you think he can't? A great DB has all the skills that a great WR has and then some. The ball is in the air....up for grabs ...Peterson will fight for the ball.

Unfortunately there is a bit more to playing receiver than running out 5 yards and catching a pass (i.e. blocking and route running) Look at Russel Shepard. He has struggled at times to catch balls down the field, and got called for holding a guy on a block. However, it would be interesting to see him turn into a Devin Hester style of player. Perhaps just put him in as a decoy on a 3rd down play. The guy has great vision, speed, and ball skills.

Yeah dude, he can catch the ball. We have a bunch of people who can catch the ball. We don't have someone who can get them the ball, if you haven't noticed. The same people bitching that they want him to play offense will be the same ones bitching that Miles is an idiot after he gets knocked the frick out when JJ throws him a shitty pass across the middle.

Charles Woodson did it. I think PP can do it. We tend to forget the 3rd down drops to our slot reciever who is known more for his legs than his hands.

If nothing else use him as a decoy. Throw him a screen one time an put it on film. But I don't think our coaches get that considering how the used Shep last year. Like how every single person in the world knew he wasn't goin to throw! One throw out of bounds would have at least given the illusion he might throw later. Sorry didn't mean to start rantin!
