Honestly, I don't think there is any valid reason to not start him. If he sucks, then you start Jefferson at Florida and nothing is hurt...it's not as if Jefferson is progressing and benching him for a game will make him play worse when we go to Florida. On the flip side, if Lee plays well, then he may be able to go into Gainesville with some confidence.

What happens if Lee comes in and plays just as poorly as JJ? What then?

It wasn't so long ago that everyone was on here screaming for JJ to replace Lee.

If he comes in and plays as bad as JJ, then go back to Jefferson and stick with him the rest of the year. It's really not going to hurt anything to give him a shot.

I used to support Les Miles with a passion, I love LSU and I have a great want for them to succeed and that is exactly why I have decided that we need to fire his dumb arse! I can't bear this cross any longer,....I love any player who wears an LSU uniform and works hard and does his best. I care about Jordan Jefferson, but that has little to do with the success of this team. He needs to grab a cliboard and stand on the sidelines for awhile and watch another hardworking student athlete have his chance. Jarrett Lee can do no worse and deserves his chance again. If nothing else JJ might gain some confidence if JL messes up and he might feel less pressure to excel. He might learn something, he might get motivated, and JL might actually improve our offense's production, he might open up the run with a threat of a completed pass and most importantly I will never see that option to the short side again. If Les Miles stays on after this year, Crowton definitely must go, the sooner the better!!!!!!!!!

If it is "just as bad" then it doesn't hurt anything. We can at least say the coaches tried something different when things weren't going well, instead of being content with failure.

Yes it was a long time ago, year and half I believe that JJ replaced JL and JJ has gotten NO BETTER. But maybe JL has so give him a try. As others have said, can't be much worse. He won't scramble but maybe that is a good thing the way we are going.

dude has a strong arm and is capable of hitting receivers all over the place, I really think he is ready this time around, but Miles will just keep playin Jordan.

Jeffersons feelings will be hurt. Also he is ranked 108 out of 114 qualified qbs in the NCAA right now, so he hasn't left lee a lot of room to be worse.

Oh yes he can and he has. If he had thrown a pick six when he came into the game Saturday, and it not like he hasn't done it before(see spring game for most recent)just like you probably did before.

Now I do think Jarrett should have already gotten and should get more playing time both in the first half of games and earlier in the second half of games and not wait until Jefferson gets hurt, like he did last year, or till we really need him because we are behind in a game because he can throw the ball better most of the time. But if you start Jarrett before he is given meaningful playing time and he has not improved just as Jefferson has not improved any, then it could be worse and Jefferson will not be pushed to get better. If after playing Jarrett in meaningfull minutes he cleary demonstrates that he can run this offense(which may be what the problem more so than the quaterbacks) better than Jordan and protect the football, then and only then should he become the starter. It may not be pretty and it may can be better but at least you can't say Jefferson has cost us a game yet this year.

This. And that's it. It's becoming apparent that his ego is more important than what is best for the team.

It's a pissing contest now for him.

If you don't think 2008 is a long time ago, how do you define a long time ago?

Too bad they don't do stuff like practice during the week to work those things out.

As long as Lee doesn't give points to the other team, then he should be a huge upgrade. however, if he throws a pick 6 I will go apeshit! Our defense is too good and our offense is too bad to give up points on offense.

If Lee throws a pick six a game, but passes for 2 TDs we are still ahead of what JJ can do!

Almost everyone felt that JJ was the right option last year. And they were all certainly calling for him to put in JJ down the stretch in 2008.

But right now, he's just seems stubborn when JJ is not doing any of the things he did last year that made him the better option.

I hope they can improve things, but it will get ugly if he keeps forcing the same stuff with the same results. Try JL and if he does bad too, then we'll have to get by on runs and trick plays or something.
