at the end of the game when LSU has a comfortable lead. It would help keep him motivated and ready just in case JJ goes down later in the season.

or is Miles trying to avoid controversy, being afraid that JL might look better than JJ in the brief time that hes playing.

It would be bad coaching.
Can imagine allowing him to come in and have a good drive or two and score a couple of touchdows? Then people might think that JL may be better than JJ and that would make CLM look bad.

I take it you haven't watched a lot of LSU football.

ETA: What I mean by this is that he has passed in mop up duty.

Stop with the conspiracy theories.

There's a reason they call it "running the clock out".

yes it would help. a series against a real opponent is better than nothing.

what if JJ goes down 8-9 games into the season and JL has made 2-3 attempts all season. LSU will be SOL then.

JL is a glorified hand offer.
Why he cant get a few series during meaningful game time is something Im tired of wondering about.

Hell, I would be supportive with JJ airing it out in the 4th qtr too if LSU has a solid lead. Let him get his reps.

With JJ running as much as he does JL will get some time. To bad he isn't being prepared more.

Miles will do anything to prevent a potential for a controversy.

Emjoy the crisp pass by JLee, because Miles is not going to make that mistake again.

It would be a better idea to let him have significant minutes.

No, it wouldn't have been- and I wish they would have let him.

Yes...JJ is winning and his coach is showing him that he believes in him and that will give the kid confidence in himself in the long run. I think JJ will be fine. If y'all establish a solid run game and just start hitting some short passes with great regularity, y'all can win it all with that defense.

Miles knows that with y'alls defense the key to success this season is to not let the offense mess it up. I think they know what they are doing.

Well then again with all the sunshine you guys pump up JL's arse he shouldn't need it to be ready according to some of you he should be starting over JJ so he doesn't need the reps.

But most mop up QB's don't pass and that is what he is now until JJ is injured

I love the guy in my section who said Miles won't let Lee throw because he doesn't wanna "let Lee get the best of him".

Who said he should permanently start? We can't make that decision until we see him play and see if he can throw for more than 96 yards.

I have figured out what was going on. Miles told Jefferson to squander our early opportunities and take field goals to keep the game close. Then Miles doesn't catch heat for putting Lee in earlier. [for the slow frickers out there I'm joking]

Maybe in the fourth quarter of the McNeese game but only if you do your homework every night without me having to make you.

i would rather see the starter get a chance to throw 3-5 passes down the field once we get the game in hand. Then let the back up get a couple passes in instead of just running out the clock
