This may well turn out to be the best D in his tenure here. He took a lot of crap for Malvetto and rightfully so. But he made the corrections, got the recruits and coaches and is all set to put our D back on the map.

For all the criticism he gets (a lot from people like me), he deserves credit for fixing a big problem.

Dude it was just 2 games.....TJ Yates threw for 400 yards against us...........Vandy sucks on offense.......Our D isn't back.

This is true. We now have an outstanding defensive staff.

I'll give him credit when the defense performs well for an entire season.

I'm certainly excited about our last defensive performance.

Facts are that he didn't solve it right the first time with Mallveto, he might have gotten it right the 2nd time. Too early to tell this year so far.

We know, you've never done something you've regretted in your life right Slow? Give Miles the credit for fixing this shite. Everyone here wanted Tenuta the year he stuck with Malleveto. If that would've happened we wouldn't have Chavis.

He waited a year and got a top tier SEC caliber defensive staff. Not a bad move - even if it happened by accident.

So far what we've seen has been a dramatic improvement. If this keeps up throughout the entire season, Miles should get all the credit in the world. And I'm not the biggest Miles fan around.

There isn't a problem with stating that we have yet to be really tested. They broke down in the UNC game. Let's wait before we make threads like this.

BTW, i'm not being negative, just logical.

Good post. I do believe it's too early to tell, but this D is shaping up to be one of the best we've ever had.

I would reserve judgement until we start playing teams with a real offense.

Lets see if our small D line can stop a power running game like Bama's. Then I'll be sold.

miles is the one who hired/promoted malleveto to run our D and kept a DL coach who didn't really coach around

The broke down in the UNC game for 3 plays. 40% of Yates' yards came on those 3 plays. It's not like they moved the ball up and down the field on us.

and vandy only had 1 real movement also, but it put them almost in a position to score and make the game interesting

so basically our D is prone to big plays and our O can only move the ball on big plays
