Had the opportunity to walk the field today. It is by far in the best shape EVER. Turf was good and tight and had excellent color. I think everyone is going to be very pleased with the conditions.

They were just starting to paint, so I didn't get a chance to see it.

The Delicate Genius's couldn't properly cultivate either sodded or seeded Mississippi Choice turf, so now they're trying yet another strain. Celebration Bermuda is supposed to be easier to maintain and more shade resistant.

The field looked pretty good last season, so I don't know what happened in the off season that prompted them to rip up the MS Choice and install Celebration.

BTW, I talked with Bart Prather, the Turf Manager at Miss.State over ther summer. They haven't had any problems with their MS Choice and love it. Did anybody see their field against Auburn? Always one of the best in the SEC.

Like I've said many times, the problem with the field in Tiger Stadium is not the grass, it's the people taking care of it. An agricultural school like LSU, that even has a "Turf Management" Major, shouldn't EVER have any kind of turf problems on their football field.

Let's see what happens with the Celebration Bermuda...

Moo State's stadium also holds 40k fewer people than ours does. The issue is that our stadium blocks too much sunlight from reaching the grass. I'm not necessarily saying that our crew is competent; I'm simply pointing out that your analogy is a weak one.

Sounds like you have an axe to grind because you know Bart and are friends with him.
