Well I guess he shouldn't have gotten all that money to help his on-field performance?

Class move, making a positive out of a negative. Good for you Reggie, sometime what hurts is the best thing.

Doomed attempt at a pre-emptive PR move

I was hoping he's smash it into a million pieces

Very mature response on the part of Reggie. Besides - who needs a trophy when you have a SUPER BOWL ring!

Honestly, I don't really care. Whatever he did in college means nothing to me, I'm not a USC fan. He's a Saint now, and we can all just move on.

Yeah real mature. He was mature by lying and not telling the NCAA what he did and let his school go down because of him and his parents taking money

OK - I'm being serious here...

Anybody know a metal sculptor worth his/her salt that could make a replica (or close) of the trophy? I'd be willing to donate to its creation to be given as a gift (I don't want to say "from the WhoDat Nation" as not all may feel as I do).

It's not really that funny. I feel like Reggie did the best thing under these circumstances.

I think more appropriate would be his leaping dive for a touchdown. That would make a nice trophy.

I see zero problem with ANY college athlete accepting money. It is ridiculous. There are so many people/organizations that make MILLIONS off of these players that I simply don't care. They are all adults, they bring their universities insane revenues, and then they are ostracized for trying to get a little back. Capitalism at it's finest if you ask me. He was 22 years old or something and was offered money for himself and his parents. Ask yourselves what you would do in the same situation.

Only when these universities donate all of their profit to charities will I give a flying frick if a college player gets a little cash on the side for a new ride or a home for his parents.
