I seriously doubt you pay tax, or you'd be smart enough to know Football is not only self supporting, but supports other less drawing sports as well.
Just another "I can be a dick if I want" post.

Scoop, there are plenty on here that have completed an entire season of NCAA Football 2011 on the Xbox WHILE eating a whole Totinos pizza. So just back off OK?

Classy post.

Some of the best posts I've seen in my limited time here have come from Bamascoop.

Good Post, but it still doesn't address the passing accuracy issue at LSU. The fans make college football fun, they pay the bills, and what we think is important. fair or unfair.

What have I done you ask? Well, Mr Scoop, I was the starting QB for my Intramural flag football team back in the late 80s for 3 seasons. I dealt with all kinds of criticism..

I can tell you this much: pass protection sucks in Flag football

I know that, most people here have welcomed everybody whether they like them or not and that is why this site is the best in college football.

Bama Scoop, that's all most LSU fans do, as much as it pains me to say.

Good point that all ranters should consider. But interestingly, I think it's the post you made on a different thread that is a bit more impactful: when coaches start listening to the directives of fans, they're destined to soon be sitting with those same fans in the stands.

I, too, was frustrated with JJ's play on Sat night. But I also know three things: (1) I'm not a coach, and I haven't been watching these kids play for months/years from the sidelines; (2) I was equally - if not far more so - frustrated with JL's play when he was given plenty of opportunities; and (3) I saw only one pass from JL on Sat night - certainly not enough for me to suddenly anoint him as the re-born NFL-quality QB that so many others seem convinced he has become.

In short, the coaches on the field clearly see something week in and week out that we do not.

As always, good thoughts from an unbiased BamaScoop.

Who in the world, even jokingly, would propose this type of agenda. It is football, a game, not life or death, but a game. Your panties are truly in a wad.

Bamascoop is well liked around here..usually for his wit.

We all have HD TV's nowadays, right?... Everyone in the nation knows we have a QB issue. I apoligize if that hurts JJ and his families feelings.

I want the kid to succeed. With that laid out, with the QB position comes the highest level of criticism and glory.. Thus, why they are the highest paid players in the NFL.

Accuracy issues are a player/talent issue..perhaps a practice issue. I don't think it's coaching. In 2.5 years, I see the same ball coming out his hands...long arm,

LSU fans and coaches know that Lee is the better passer from day one. Lee's issue is nerves and confidence during a game. If Lee can get past this, he is light years better than JJ relative to passing down feild with accuracy.

The fans can see the truth.. JJ hasn't developed his game and Lee deserves his 2nd chance to reclaim his starting position. That is fair... the team must come first, not the players feelings.

simple as that..

This is no different than criticizing Shaq for his horrible free throws.. It's the Truth!! The truth stings sometimes

LSU = 1 of 2 universities in the COUNTRY with Athletic programs that are not funded by tax dollars so again you FAIL

AND I doubt you even pay taxes, you probably fill out a return to get tax credits and you think that makes you a tax 'payer'.

Fair enough ... but don't act like we can't go to a Bama board and see the same damn thing we see here. (maybe not right now, of course...but, you know what I mean)

I'm in agreement with you about belittling players...but, criticizing the play of a player without being outright nasty ... should be ok.

I really like JJ ... but, no way around it ... he has played poorly.

Agree. I don't blame the players, as they do what they are told. Players make mistakes, but if they are not good enough, then that falls on the coach to put someone else in who is better.

Although I agree with your post and the message it sends, it still doesn't hide the fact that there is trouble at the QB position. Whether you want to blame it on the coaches or blame it on a 20 year old kid is up to you. If you can sit back and just enjoy the product you are seeing, then I envy you, b/c you have much more patience than I.

Maybe you Bama fans should learn this lesson as well before lecturing others. You guys unmercifully criticized your QB and best WR last season when they didn't play well despite winning games.

quote:

You've been criticizing Greg McElroy lately. Guess what? He's heard you. McElroy threw for 276 yards and two touchdowns, and in his post-game news conference, spoke candidly about how difficult the past couple weeks have been for himself and Julio Jones.

"It's really encouraging to me that he was able to get off like he did tonight," McElroy said. "He's had a lot of pressure on him, too. I've had to deal with a lot of animosity and a lot of hatred from a lot of different people, which is somewhat undeserved, I feel like. But sometimes you've got to do what you've got to do, and he's dealt with the same thing and the fact he was able to make a play really made me excited for him and the team."

McElroy wasn't done. He was asked if he's come close to getting away from his recent struggles in the past three games, when he averaged 119.7 yards passing and threw no touchdowns and two interceptions.

"I like to think so," he said. "Every game is its own entity. You can't ever say you won't face adversity again, because you will. This is the SEC and you play great teams week in and week out. Is it frustrating to me that people did lose faith in me? Yeah, it really ticks me off. But I never lost faith in myself, I never lost faith in my teammates, and I never lost faith in what we're able to do offensively, and it really made me feel good to go out and silence everybody tonight and obviously get a big victory."

lol ... now I have seen it all.

You have no clue what the players go through in practice, school, life. Critique the performances objectively but don't criticize the players (they suck..etc..)

The QB position is a great example. Obviously there is something beyond a lack of effort on the part of the players here. When you have two QB's that "don't get it" you can assume its systematic.

Now the coaching staff? Different story but try to be objective.

How lewd. Every single student at LSU is getting an education that is greatly subsidized by tax dollars, whether they are on scholarship or not. Do you demand perfection from every student? Where you a perfect student? I sure hope so given that I subsidized you with my tax dollars.

Nobody is asking anyone to be perfect. Just at least a little better than terrible and by the way if you have an academic scholarship and preform in the classroom the way that the player in question preformed on the field. You would no longer have a scholarship. Just saying.

The poster I was addressing was talking about tax dollars going to fund football players' educations. My point was that whether you are or are not a scholarship student, tax dollars are greatly subsidizing your education. LSU is a public institution. If tuition were set at the per-student cost of an education, it would be much higher. LSU is a huge welfare program. Many people take it for granted.
