Just a few years ago we had the same crap come up over a professor and student athletes. It does happen everywhere but it got highlighted at UNC because of the agent situation. Auburn had their sociology degree scandal just a few years ago. Bama had the textbook thing. Don't be dumb. It happens.

Davis would have probably kept Perriloux though and we might never have heard of Andrew Hatch or Pick Six Lee.

Hindsight is 20/20. When we hired Miles, Davis was a much more proven coach.

And for the record, Davis is not our head coach because he wanted to take a year off after his NFL debacle. We wanted Davis and several other coaches before Miles.

Why?
51–20 UM
20-18 UNC

A whole lot of mediocre in his best effort. I guess the grass is always greener.

Yes. But mostly because Davis has a shitty haircut. You can't run a top flight program with a haircut like that.

Would you rather win a national championship or two, then a couple years later get busted for cheating during those years and spend a couple years on probation, or a during that 5 year period, going 8-4,9-3,10-2? Hypothetically.

Davis is no scumbag. I just fail to see where he is any better than what we have.

a scumbag like Davis that has his players cheating so they can be eligible to play.
I doubt very seriously that Butch Davis purposefully set up his players to "cheat" with the chance that they would get caught and potentially destroy his whole program and coaching career.

you = dumb

FWIW, Davis couldnt take the job due to his contract from the Browns. He could not take another Job for 1 year to be able to recieve either his severance or the remander of his pay from his contract. cant remember which one it is but the contract had a clause in it

No, you are the crazy one for saying it does. It doesn't go on everywhere you jackass.

Maybe not to the extent as what happen at UNC, but something like this goes on at just about every major program to some degree.

OK calling him a scumbag may have been over the top, but he recruited thugs who rather cheat than work hard at their academics. Miles would choose an intellent player over a thug anyday.

Hi, remember me?

This falls on the Academic Support staff and Compliance. Many of the things talked about are not Honor Code violations and are technical in nature. Editing as part of the general student population is allowed and encouraged as part of the instructor, student experience. However, the NCAA is more stringent than the honor code. The real kicker is in the communication. I believe email reveals contact outside the academic center. Again, NCAA related, but not honor code. I believe what is taking so long is there is a group of cleared. There is a group that will not be cleared. Then there is a lot of gray.

I am pretty certain there will be punishment handed out to kids that the same act would be found at every major university. This is exactly why you cringe when the NCAA shows up. I bet Davis was totally unaware. I say that because when he moved th CH, he requested a tutor for his son and the Academic center sent over a two year employee who is at the center of this.

I also believe there is very little information available due to Privacy Acts and Academics.

Um, the UNC guys are getting kicked off/suspended.

My point simply was that every major program is going to have bad apples. Tossing stones probably isn't a wise idea given the glass house surrounding the LSU program.

ETA: Plus, Perrilloux was given every possible chance under the sun to stay at LSU.
