Reasons I hate North Carolina in general

1. All they care about is basketball.
2. North Carolinians seem to act like "Gomer" and "Goober" off of the Andy Griffith Show.
3. In keeping with that same vein, North Carolinians have absolutely no sense of humor when asked where "Mayberry" is.
4. Their barbeque sucks. Vinegar and salt? Come on....
5. Why is it that their state is home to NASCAR, it seems that Alabama would be a more suitable location?
6. Their NFL team sucks!
7. Did I mention their barbeque sucks??
8. Did I mention all they care about is basketball?
9. I was informed at the 1984 Final Four that a Tar-Heel was a person who got manure on their shoe. Is that really what it is? If so, and to make sure I'm clear, their mascot is someone with manure on their boots? If I'm wrong, I'm hoping a "tarheel" can clarify this tidbit of useless information. I mean, I know what the hell a Tiger is... it's a jungle predator... Just sayin....
Regardless of whether their starters play or not, it's a Tiger Football game! I'm ready for some damn football!!! Geaux Tigers!!!

To top all of that off, they're awfully uppity in my opinion.
I once mentioned to a fellow Senate intern that ended up dating (back in 04) that it was good to have a nice southern gal around in DC. Instead of accusing me of sexual harassment (which is what I was going for) she simply asked: you consider North Carolina the South?

I have no problems with unc.
Always find myself rooting for them during march madness.

they are an uppity, their basketball crowd is a total wine and cheese crowd. can barely hear a peep out of them even when they have a full house.
as far as the bbq goes, you are 100% wrong. best pulled pork in the country imho comes from eastern nc.

I wouldn't mind living in NC, say somewhere around Asheville or the coast maybe. Probably beat living in Mousetown.

NASCAR grew out of the moonshine runners in the Carolina hills souping up their cars to outrun the law.

I dislike that in 2008 they ended our baseball season and in 2009 ended our basketball season.

I think most of them would point out the town of Mount Airy. Which is near Pilot Mountain (remember, Mount Pilot in the Andy Griffin show?) Mount Airy even has an Andy Griffin Parkway.

There is also the story that the troops got their name "Tar Heels" from their hesitation to advance in battle. They would stand there like they had tar on their heels.
Finally, during my time spent in North Carolina, I was repeatedly reminded that this play probably cost UNC the championship. FYI Jordan acted like a thug.

You left off mustard as well. Yuk! Best pulled pork is in the Deep South like the Memphis dry rub style with the BBQ sauce on the side. I don't like any team that LSU has to play simple as that. After the game is over, I have no problem with UNC.

.. I like UNC. Oldest ( 1st) public university in U.S. ... ever been to Chapel Hill ? . Its awesome, pal. Beautiful, fabulous campus. .. food could be better, sure ( what can compare to south LA anyway ? ) , but the surrounding "campus town" is great, the beer is cold and flowin' and the chicks are killer ! ... Hey - its a quintessential college town - can't be that bad ... and Smoky Mtns an hour drive away ... nice ...
