Is Trueblood a chick show?

Some broad gave me a hard time on my FB status last night for watching TB. I don't consider it a chick show, but is that the overwhelming sentiment? If so I guess I'm a chick bc I've been watching since day 1

I've only seen one episode, i think the perception is that it is a chick's show.
But pretty much anything having to do with vampires seems to cater to chicks

I tried watching the first season, and I didn't really get into it. It definitely gave me a more chick than dude show impression. I mean I probably wouldn't rag on a guy for watching it, but it is more on the chick side of the spectrum for sure.

No, it equals chick show on a premium network. I think part of the reason they do that is for the guys, but nudity does not necessarily make it a male targeted show, imo. I think this show tries to stay in the middle ground, but imo, it leans more heavily to the chick side.

I quit watching it during the second season because of all the "chick" stuff. There's soooo many drawn out melodramatic scenes between the various couples. It's like a bad soap opera.

needs more arse-kicking scenes. with a bunch of vampires and groups that hate them, you would think there would be more violent fight scenes.

Yea in fact my FB status was about how gay it's getting this season (lafayettes storyline along w/ the king of MS)
I find it violent enough to satisfy my manly side. I think people just know its a show about vampires, so they think twilight> chick show. Not the case IMO.
btw the 1st season to me was also kinda meh, but the 2nd and now 3rd seasons are fricking fantastic. They've done a really great job of developing the characters and I'm hooked

I don't think it's a chick show because there is too many naked women and too much violence, adult situations. It would probably be considered rated R in a movie theater, and most chick movies are never rated R. TB is only comparable to Twilight in the sense that they are both about Vampires. I watched the first Twilight movie and have no desire to watch anything else Twilight.
I love (or love to hate) all of the characters on TB. There is so much depth to this show, it's crazy. One need only read popular TB websites like Sookieverseblog or ancient pythoness to see how deep the rabbit hole really gets on this show.

you can pretty much bank most dudes who like vampire shite to be unathletic and nerdy (WOW types), so in that sense it's a chick show.

And the sex does not cater to chicks. Most of the time it is rough fricking in the dirt in a cemetery angry sex.
If you know more chick shows and movies like that then please let us know so we can watch those too.
