It sounds like Texas has a similar situation as LSU. Their backup qb quit and left two true freshmen and a walkon as backups. I like our situation better. With backup qb's leaving to get playing time, this may become more common.

Mack Brown's an idiot. He should be fired.

Gilbert was a 5* QB who helped them compete as a true freshman in the National Championship Game.....I think they'll be fine.

Gilbert has the potential to be a stud, but they are an injury away from a true freshman taking meaningful snaps in a regular season game.

Having a sophomore and two freshmen is not the same as having two juniors.

And? What happens if the kid goes back for a pass and blows out his knee? That is all we hear from the fireMiles assholes who are wailing and gnashing their teeth over this ZLee thing.

Yeah, but they have a sophomore that stepped onto the biggest stage in college football as a true fresh and almost led a 2nd half comeback against one of the best defenses in college football. I dont think out situations are the same

He also had clock managment problems last year and this year the offensive line is in question.

Now he has a new OL, new RB's and new WR's.

Good luck. Texas is overrated as shite and could be looking at 4 losses this year.

UT is one injury away from a bad situation. LSU can survive a serious injury to a qb better than UT. I don't hear UT calling for Mack's head. Mack is recognized as one of the best recruiters in the country and still ended up in this situation. It happens.

I'd rather have a gilbert in 2012, then a RS fresh Rivers and mystery QBs.

Actually I'd rather have gilbert now, then JJ and Lee together.

The Rant isn't worried about injuries this year, but the 2012 season.

I was just thinking... Last year they were an injury away from throwing a true freshman in the fire. Wait.... It happened in the NC game against the nation's best D, and although he wasn't great, it was his first meaningful time, and he did ok for not being able to find his helmet at first. Haha

I know that the Chic-fil-a Bowl against Ga. Tech ain't the same but didn't JJ look like a future Heisman winner in that game? Just sayin'.
