I got a place I hunt thats public and they don't open the gates until 2 hours before day light. So it's actually 1 1/2 hrs before shooting time. I drive my truck 5 miles, then unload my 4 wheeler and load it, drive 5.5 miles back, carry all my gear through water about 1/2 a mile and by the time I get everything set up I usually have about 3-5 minutes before I can shoot.

Opening day of season and 2nd split, 15 minutes before shooting hour. Front passages during the night or early morning, same. Other than that about 8:00 a.m.

Normally before shooting time. However when the ducks get thick oftentimes well leave the ramp about daylight and figure out where we want to go and then make a lazymans hunt.
Also if tides are low sometimes we'll sleep in and do a pm hunt.

Wake up 30 min. before shooting hours, get dressed while drinking coffee, walk 100 yards to boat shed, drive boat 2 min. and get in blind.
That's how it's supposed to be done!

I want to be in a position where I'm at a panic to get shells in the gun as the first group comes into the dekes.

Forgot to mention our blind is leased and the dekes stay out during the season. The only real work each morning is putting up the Flapper.
Oh, and we're also quite lazy and like to drink lots at the camp each night. So we have gotten it down to as easy as possible in order to make more hunts and not sleep in all the time.

In the water @ 3 a.m.
1 hr. boat ride
Find spot
Throw out 10 dz. dekes
Just get the boat blind up in time to shoot.....
and its all worth it!

Around the house in the rice fields I'm usually getting in the blind right before shooting hours. At the camp it just depends on how hammered everybody got the night before.

+1 No matter what my intentions this seems to be the norm.

I know a group of guys that hunt Bayou Meto (public) in Stuttgart. Boats can't leave the boat ramp until 5:00 am. So, instead of waiting with everyone else to race for their favorite hole, they draw straws and the loser gets leave at 3:00 am to walk in with his gun, shell bag, Q-Beam and a lawn chair.

For a gentlemens hunt, usually about 9-9:30ish. just about the time the big ducks(mallard, pintails) start to move in ...

When I lived in Harbor Town, which is an "island" community on Mud Island in downtown Memphis, I would wake up, grab the dog and gun, and go down to the harbor about 50 yards from my apartment.
30 minute zip (albeit scary) across the MS River to Arkansas and up the Brandy Wine shoot.
Man I miss hunting on the river.
