Seattle Food Tours
No experience with the business or the area (other than a 1-day gig at a Forks, WA radio station), but the concept of a local "Food Tour" intrigues me.
One wonders what a Baton Rouge version would encompass...

This looks really cool, but I will be working during the times of all the tours this week.
I'll just visit some of the restaurants they go to on their tour.

Salumi is a good suggestion. It's Mario Batali's dad's place, and Anthony Bourdain calls it "one of the 13 places in the world everyone should eat before they die." It's always crowded though and only serves lunch during the week. Definitely worth the hassle IMHO
Canlis is another good one as are the Tom Douglas restaurants. Serious Pie is probably the best pizza around here. Most of my favorite restaurants are out of downtown and in the neighborhoods. Not sure how far you're looking to venture. Zoe is another good one in downtown.

We are leaving Seattle in the morning headed home to Lafayette. Definitely go to Salumi. Also, Elliott's Oyster House is really good. You will spend some money there but DAMN. Walk though Pike Market. Lot's of good stuff there. There is a place in the market called La Panier that has really great french baked goods. If you are there on Friday night, go to the Seattle Center, they have concerts and beer. Not sure if you are there for work or play, but if you have the time, book brewery tours at brewerytours.org. We had a blast. There are plenty of things to do in Seattle. If I think of anything else, I will post.

Any of the Tom Douglas restaurants: Serious Pie, Dahlia Lounge, Lola, Ettas. I've been to all of those, there are others I think, and they are all high quality with interesting menus and wine lists. I'd also suggest Eva, which is my favorite restaurant in town. I've never eaten at Salumi, but I order their meats regularly and they are the best I've had.

This place is at the public market. Ate there a couple times when up for the LSU game last year.

Quinn's Pub, if you like great local beer with above-average food. I think they're only a dinner place.
Salumi is a must for lunch/brunch one day. They open at 11, be there early.

If you're into steak places you can't go wrong with the Metropolitan Grill

I agree with Salumi if you can catch them while they're open. You can also go to other restaurants and sample their cured meats.
Here are a couple ideas from when LSUBoo and I were recently in Seattle:
Pike Brewing Company
Pyramid Ale House
Quinn's Pub

Seattle has a cheap fried seafood joint on the waterfront named Ivar's, oddly enough. Pretty popular and you can feed the seagulls while enjoying the view.
