It sounds like we have to hope for Okafor to play at a much higher level and Dwest actually play some D...
Well, Monty has said he thinks they will be helped by better perimeter defense. We'll see. I do look for better play from Okafor. I really do.

I'm not one of these arm chair coaches that tivos games and breaks down performances, but the hornettards that are like that have regularly said Okafor and West were often bumping heads so to speak trying to occupy the same spots on the floor. How terrible a coach was Bower? Surely Monty can get everyone on the same page and hide Okafor and West's flaws better.

To the team making the offer. The Grizz would get to pay the contract out as it is written, so the first 2 years would be around the MLE. If they resign Randolph they'll be forced to move multiple players for nothing in 2 years, but that's in 2 years. The fact that they made an irrational decision like maxing out Rudy Gay suggests there's no guarantee they wouldn't match a Gasol offer sheet.
I thought the Griz would have to meet the cap hold even if they were paying less money or something like that. I thought their was some scenario where they could technically lose the player.

They can, if they don't match the offer, but the salary is not calculated as the average for them. That's why I think that unless the Grizz show some sign of wanting to trade Gasol, Carmelo is probably the more realistic pipe dream of the two.

For the team making this offer, this contract would count for $11.0 million (i.e., the average salary in the contract) of team salary in each of the five seasons if they sign the player. If the player's prior team matches the offer and keeps the player, then the actual salary in each season counts as team salary. The player's original team is allowed to use any available exception (e.g., the Mid-Level or the Early-Bird) to match the offer.

Matching a max Arenas offer for Gasol wouldn't cause Memphis problems for 2 years.

Marc gasol is a legit true center which is hard to come by. west is a high scoring pf on a mediocre team. if the numbers work out you would have to take the swap.

Hopefully. Of course, one or both may not be on the roster.

There was also a near consensus that we were going to get Melo a few weeks back. There really isn't a whole lot to talk about in August
