Best Sketch Comedy Show Prior to Chappelle's Show

Because Chappelle's Show took the cake for the 2000's, what was your fav sketch comedy show before it?
I pick...Mr. Show with Bob and David
This HBO comedy gem was so clever: sketches were original, each played into the next, and there was amazing comedic talent all around.
Some of the best sketches:
- The Audition
- Pre-taped call in show
- The Story of Everest
- Young People and Companions
I own all 4 amazing seasons

I thought Mad Tv always used to do a solid job. Some huge laughs from the later years as well.

Love Whose Line but no way is it better than Chapelle's Show. Whose Line isn't even sketch comedy.
SNL used to be funny. They still have some good stuff (ESPN Classic and What Up With That?), but other than that it isnt very good.

I'd consider it an improv sketch comedy show. I liked some of the Chappelle's Show skits, but the racial stereotyping comedy isn't really my thing.
