Les Miles is a good enough person that LSU fans owe it to him to be fair in their criticism. When there is criticism that is unfair, that's when people step up to defend him. There are simply people who do not want him as the LSU head coach and never have and the results don't have anything to do with it

well stated...

Because, Patrick, your coach does not inspire confidence. You can't rest on your laurels, your past accomplishments from 3 years ago. It's about the direction of the program, not past accomplishments and blaming your misfortune on a boneheaded ex QB.

Please link the quote where Les Miles blamed his misfortune on his boneheaded ex QB.
-
Also, please explain how going from 3-5 in the SEC to 5-3 in the SEC is a bad direction to be headed.

Thanks in advance.

based on comments from Miles, the players, the summer workout video, recruiting, etc., how can you conclude that anyone is resting on their laurels?

The fact that recently Auburn and Tenn did not get their 1'st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th choices for their Coaches recently should lets say dictate a little caution

Just the opposite. They had to settle for their down-the-line choices because they had let the long-time successful coach stay too long and deplete the program to the point where major rebuilding was necessary.

Rocket, you can keep peddling that line of bullshite as long as you want, but no amount of squawking it will ever make it true. You're full of shite and even you know it.

The people who are most guilty of it get the most defensive of it.

Quick update for those nuts on parade: Saban won 48 games in his first five seasons at LSU. Miles has 51. Enough said!

How can you even put something stupid like this up here? You can't compare those especially since Saban was repairing a program and Miles was just trying to keep one cruising. Compare seasons 4 and 5 when the teams were 90% of the coaches own recruits.

Also, I'm tired of hearing the RP comments. Who is the coach that kept giving him chance after chance. Obviously RP didn't respect Miles enough to know that he meant business and stop screwing up.

I hope like hell that the Tigers can turn it around this year, but I do not have enought faith in the coaching staff.

I would say season 5 for each was pretty comparable...except the 09 team didn't get blown out.

Wow, "RP did not respect Les enough to change his behavior"...How can you say that, RP did not or does not respect anything, not just Les...I guess you can blame Les for RP's problems also...

If RP did the right things and took care of business, LSU's record the last 2 years would have been better...And RP would have been drafted in the top tier...Why do you think he fell so much? Teams do not trust him...So I guess that is Les' fault also...

I understand that he has made mistakes...They all do...Look at Texas in the Big 12 Championship...They threw the ball away with one second and maybe there was really no time left...

This is his year to prove to everyone that LSU is back in the hunt for Championships...And if he falters this year then he will be on the "Hot Seat" or maybe he will be back in Michigan...

Unless, that is, you're among the nattering nabobs of negativism who criticize Miles because he's not Saban, or because Alabama got Saban, or because SEC officials blew a call against LSU that took away an interception from Patrick Peterson and cost the Tigers a chance to beat Saban and the Tide.

A lot of this on this board. Unfair and unnecessary as the article states.

bullshite...Auburn was undefeated in 04 and was pre-season pick to win the SEC in 08. They were also pre-season top 10 in the AP poll. They fell apart because of tampering that forced Tuberville to hire Franklin, which was a trainwreck. Their coaching search turned out the way it did because of more interference by Dye, etc. No decent coach wants to come into a situation like that.

i know...this board cracks me up sometimes.

Hey Atlanta....i've got a new Peterson quote you can use....

quote:

“We love Coach Miles. He’s a great coach. He’s done a number of great things. We have a tremendous amount of confidence that he’ll have us ready to play on Saturdays. He’s our coach, he’s LSU’s coach, and as a coach and as a team we have to play better to help defend Coach Miles.”

I've got $1000 that says you won't use it. It doesn't fit your agenda.

I believe that there are some complaints about the coaching staff that is valid but there are alot of spoiled bandwagon fans on here who take their criticisms overboard. I started following LSU in the late Archer years when they were somewhat successful and watched Curly Hallman almost destroy the football program and we were lucky towin 3 or 4 games a year.
We have watched Les have great success under some trying events. Yes he's made mistakes and more than a few times left me wondering what he was thinking but I believe he is a good coach and a great recruiter. He knows he's on the hot seat and you can see it has lit a fire under his arse. Reading some posts on this forum you would believe the program is in shambles and this is just stupid, the program is in great shape. Yes, the team has fallen off and alot of criticism is warranted but Les has earned the right to right this ship and fix it and I believe he will. But from the look of some posters on here it wont matter, they will still bitch and complain.

In the FANBASE, douchebag. I was answering the question from a fans point of view, I wasn't saying what PP thought, you idiot. Quit twisting my words to try to make your point.

And as far as the sig quote, he said it, I didn't. His quote was both doubtful and hopeful at the same time. I'm using both parts of it. It's not surprising that you can't wrap your brain around that.

I never said any of those things, that's your shitty interpretation. Quit putting words in my mouth. It's not surprising that you not only don't understand my post, but are trying to twist it into fitting your agenda.
