Miles won't be gone until we are in pre-Dinardo shape.

Yes, even though Hallman was retained after 3 seasons worse than that.

Miles will be fired after a 7-5, despite winning a championship, and an incredibly high W-L record. He will be paying for LSU sins of the past.

No. Crowton gets canned. There is only so much money floating around down there. Someone negotiated a bad contract for LSU. We're stuck with this boy for a couple of more years.

At 4 losses, he will be gone. He wont get to five.

Is Les Miles the best coach LSU could have ? The answer is no. But...Miles did win it all in 2007. Regardless...the wheels are a little low in pressure and the engine needs a little work, but I think Miles definitely will get another year if the team goes 8-4 or better. A 7-5 record will get him another year iff he makes drastic changes to assistant coaches...i.e. Crowton. With the financial trouble at LSU right now, I think Miles will live to see next year regardless. I don't know how you convince a new coach to come to LSU if you fire Miles three years after a NC. I am not a Miles fan but you have to think that a great coach is not going to want to be on a short lease. Miles is not the best coach or the best choice but unless he goes .500 this year, regardless of SEC record, he gets another year. I am predicting 5 losses but Miles' hook is that he has a very good recruiting class. What that means waits to be seen.

If he goes 7 & 5, I’d vote for him to be fired. A lot of people will claim you can’t fire him so soon after lucking out and winning a MNC in 2007, but the reality is if Saban had not preceded Miles, there never would have been a MNC in 2007. Anyway, considering the talent he has to work with, a third mediocre year in a row would be more than adequate grounds to terminate him, especially considering the enormous salary he is drawing.

The buyout is the 800 pound gorilla in the room.

I think it also depends on the product on the field. If we have another Troy debacle or Ole Miss meltdown...his seat will be scorching hot. It's more than just W/L.

Great point Zach ! If the team is looking horrible offensively and is just scraping by teams that have no business being in the game, then you got problems. Improvement must be seen all around. If you are going 3 plays and out for the first 5 drives against McNeese St. or Vanderbilt, it is not going to sit well with the fans.

in my opinion, he should not get the option to fire Crowton and keep his job for one more year. this past year was the year to can Crowton but he chose to keep him. in my opinion, if Crowton sinks, Les sinks too.

I think yes. If we start out say 3 and 4 and the offense is worse the pressure will be so intense I don't know if Crowton could finish the season and Miles would be gone at seasons end. I would much rather we all be surprised with an SECCG and a trip to the NC.

If LSU goes 10-2 and wins West and goes to SEC Championship, a good possibility, Miles could be gone to Michigan. I hope not though!
