is Berkshire a buy? This article got me thinking.

Knowing how Buffett thinks, he would call BH overvalued at anything above book value so I would assume it's still overvalued.

I'm curious to know what the more experienced investors on the board think about BH now and in general.

BNSF could get clobbered if Obama gets his "cap and trade" bill passed which would shut down coal-fired plants (BNSF delivers a lot of coal out of Wyoming).

I may not care for Buffett's support of Dem candidates but he knows how to make LOTS of $$$. BH will always trade at a higher price than some "valuation" (translated: SWAG) simply due to Buffett.

If I had lots of cash to invest I would buy some BH Class B stock (and if I hit the lottery I would get my one share of Class A stock).

I'm curious to see how much the stock drops on news of Buffett's future death/serious stroke. I cant think of any other CEO (maybe Steve Jobs) that means so much to the company. Not trying to be morbid, but Steinbrenner's death has got me thinking.

Me too. Obviously it will drop but the market has already priced this in so although it will of course be large it isn't like the company will collapse.

I wonder how many stockholders bought third-party life insurance on Buffett.

Don't you have to have an insurable interest to buy life insurance?

If you own 10 shares of Berkshire Class A ($120,000/share), wouldn't you have a pretty big stake in Buffet's mortality?

At BH's mammoth current size it's hard to figure on much outperformance. I'm a skeptic.
