Living in TN, I can tell you that Neyland is great - if you don't have legs. There is zero space once you get to the upper decks, and you can barely sit down with your legs facing forward. That stadium is a great example of upsizing for upsizing's sake. They actually removed some seats a few years back because of so many complaints. They'll be facing empty sections this fall.

In the early and mid seventies, there were hedges in the north and south endzones, then they pulled em, concreted, put in seats and a walkway.....

Were there ever hedges on the sidelines in Tiger Stadium? If so, it had to be before 1970 because that's when I first got season tickets...

The field really should be lowered if possible for a better view for everyone...but that aint gonna happen in my lifetime...

Can someone tell me why the SEC Champ Banners under the east upper deck arent there anymore? The brackets or whatever you want to call them are still there...but no banners....doesn't the athletic department know or even care? How much can it cost to put up seven banners? I know a sign maker in N.O. who makes banners, similar to what Tiger Stadium had, for 50 bucks each....

Letters and emails from LSU, for whatever reason, always talk about us fans showing pride.....well, ya know, TAF and the LSUAD should show some frickin pride themselves and take care of the shite that should be taken care of...

Am I right?

Last time I was in Neyland was 2001. I sat on one arse cheek for the entire first half. I went to get a drink at halftime, which was a fiasco in itself, and when I got to my row where my seat was, it vanished in thin air. The second half I stood at the top of that big arse ramp and watched on a tv that was in the concourse. It was cooler and I had a great view at night of the Tennessee River.

As fans, we should worry more about restoring the most important reputation of Tiger Stadium: Loud, rowdy, intimidating instead of mass exodus at halftime, fans sitting down as if at the opera, etc. TS was never known as being "pretty" - Bama can have that.

Oh crap, I'm being the fan police.

OK...let me ask this question.....what has LSU, TAF or whoever, done for the Tiger Stadium "bowl" fans....meaning, the average Joe Blow who sit in the bowl? The only thing that I can really think of are the Video and Ribbon boards. But then, that isn't even true because, like I said, eveidently they don't know how the shite works because even though they are twice as big, the wording is even smaller than it was before....

I do have to give the Athletic Departmant props for the chairbacks that the fans can buy for the games, for what? forty bucks? well worth it...
just show up for the game and your seat is there.....without having to carry it around all day...

....and yeah yeah....i realize that the sideline seats arent Joe Blow anymore, its now the Saturday night wine and cheese party.

...and let me say this....I love LSU, I love Tiger Stadium and I love our fans...but it seems as if LSU just does things half assed....

I wish someday, some LSU fan would ride up in a hook and ladder fire truck, extend it 8 stories and yank down that frickin pvc pipe hangin from the underside of the west upper deck....that would be priceless...

Tennessee's facilities. Neyland is getting an upgrade and overall UT's facilities are great.

And they cannot sell their season tickets right now, they cannot sell their away game allotments to all the games, the baseball field is nice but absolutely no parking. UT facilities beyond Neyland do not rival LSU

Also good luck if you're looking for an actual score on the ribbon boards instead of an advertisement.......though last year they were a little better in this regard.

They just finished replacing all of the seats on the sidelines in the lower bowl. The ones there now are definitely upgrades over the old chairbacks with armrests.

I have only sat on the sidelines one time...for the LSU - Nebraska game in 1976 on the 45 yard line about 20 rows up.......and I can't remember if I sat on bleachers, chairbacks or concrete...

...but that's true, I forgot about the new bleacher backs...

the only thing they need to do with the stadium is remove the old ladies that bring a frickin recliner chair back seats that sit back in my frickin lap

its german, but that is a done deal. with the new "rent a seat program" i don't think you can bring in your seat anymore. its in the gameday brochure.

I actually think they ended up backing off of that.

The hedges feel like a UGA feature, I don't think it would fit Tiger Stadium. But the fence is pretty rough.

Hedges! Yall think the LSUAD could plant and grow some nice thick hedges around the field? No chance. They have trouble cultivating a decent turf. There's no way they could handle hedges.

Yep, that tacky fence needs to go. At minimum, put up another one. They make galvanized fence in gold tone or put up a brick or wrought iron fence.

It's all a matter of school pride. You can tell that the AD has few, or any, in employment that are die hard LSU football fans who refuse to allow ANYTHING, facilities wise, to shed a negative light on the school. No way in hell that historic stadium should be run down like that. Alleva should have cleaned house and removed all the dead weight when he got here.

BTW, all those that responded to this thread, please send your comments to the Athletic Director (athletics@lsu.edu) and Herb Vincent (vincent@lsu.edu) where your suggestions might actually be acted upon.......
