Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of seeing ZLee in action that would make you believe he is the next coming of Tommy Hodson as a Freshman Phenom?

True Fresh QBs hardly ever see success that first year. It's been awhile, as I can only think of Mike Vick off the tomh.

Barkley did pretty good last year eventhough the team didn't.

Yep.

He's one of the few qbs I've had the opportunity to watch as a freshman and really noticed that he was leaps and bounds beyond the rest.

This is LSU. The backups and never seen freshman are pretty popular people. JaMarcus was the #1 pick and people wanted to see Flynn.

He's got a chance to do some damage in the BCS bowls this year

I am pretty excited about the guy pitching for the baseball team next year.
There is no chance in hell he sees the football field as a true freshman and no amount of internet bullshite about how good he may be is going to change that fact.

By far my favorite part of the next 2 seasons.

BTW, no way in hell does Lee see the field this year no matter what happens with MLB.

does he have some leverage though, he could tell Miles that he'll stay but he doesn't want to redshirt...

I called it as soon as he went to da Raidahs. Not that JaMarcus helped himself very much, but go look who his WRs/O-line has been.

Wrong. Vick was a RS-FR.

Tommy Hodson started as a redshirt freshman. Just saying...

The opening game against aTm, Hodson came out and his 1st three passes were awful, nowhere near catch-able. He was almost flawless the rest of the game.

No one knows who will start except the coaches at LSU. Right now it is JJ. But there has been a lot of talk, which is cheap, about how good Zach really is. Was he told he would play at lot as a freshman to get him here to play fb and bb....No one knows but Miles......JJ can learn from the new qb coach and also watching all the other qbs. JJ needs not to play too conservative this year. So what if a qb throws a pick-6, they have to take chances soemtimes.....the only presure on JJ is to keep his starting job. It is his to keep, but if he keeps throwing the ball in the ground and not producing 1st downs, Miles will try the next best qb, who ever shows it in practice. If a player wants to play, he has to show it in practice. With the publicity Zach has and the fact that he might turn pro early, he could very well get playing time early,....depends on a lot.....I just hope LSU can come up with a qb out of this bunch to produce the wins........

I was there. His 3rd down pass sailed over the LSU bench.

He had some help from a then-unheralded junior WR who had his LSU coming out party that night catching 9 passes: Wendell Davis.

Dam, already ready to toss Chris Garret to the side for the newer new guy. That didn't take long.

I live very close to him and his stats were not that impressive (many quarterbacks post similar stats here) and his team went 4-7.
