This may be the last domino to fall this Summer. I don't see the MWC adding another team - they already made their play by adding Boise State to (preemptively) replace Utah.
If they add anyone, it'd be Houston (a big new market for The MTN Network). But I doubt it.

Just a matter of time before Utah is in the Pac 10. The Pac 10 wants a championship game and needs one more school to get there. Moreover, they need someone to provide a link and a rivalry to CU; right now, the nearest conference school is over a 1000 miles away.
Utah may come out the biggest winner in this whole conference fiasco. They will now be in a BCS conference and all they have to do is make it past a probation-pummelled USC team to make the big bowls. They are like the car in the middle of the pack, behind the movers and shakers, just waiting their time out. BOOM...wreckage ahead...Utah just coasts past the debris and moves from 7th or 8th place across the finish line.

i was getting ready to ask doesn't this hurt the MWC getting the automatic BCS bid now?

Being that I live out here I kept wondering why Utah wasn't added to the Pac-10 in the first place. Even before Colorado. Geographically it just makes sense and it's a $$$ windfall for the Utes.
I'm not a fan of Utah or BYU but you know this will sting BYU a bit. AND it makes their annual game an even bigger rivalry for bragging rights. Not for just state bragging but conf supremacy as well.

I shall join with you since i always love to have a good, hearty laugh at Bull shite University's expense.

comparing the amount of money schools made pre-shakeup to today, if Utah joins the Pac-10, I don't know how they wouldn't be the big winner in all this

I would think so. Switching out Utah for Boise St. doesn't make the conference any better. I guess they can hope TCU and Boise continue to crash the BCS party and they get more competitive at the bottom of the conference. That way, it'd be hard to leave them out of consideration, especially if the new Pac-12 backfires and sucks like the ACC did after expansion.

My question is this.....does this make TCU a more attractive candidate to try and pull into the newly "saved" Big 12-2????
Will their eyes start to wander now?

You don't think the loss of 30 scholarships will have an effect?
Have you heard of a school called Alabama or listened to any of their fans?

oh I do think it will have an effect......of course last year SC wasn't on probation and weren't the best team in that conference. SC will not be the only team they will have to go through to make the big bowls.

I think that the MWC, unlike the SEC or Big XIi, would be perfect for Houston.
I'm sure theMWC would be interested in both the Houston market and UH's solid W-L records in recent yrs, a big deal in trying to get that BCS conf designation.

And now reports are coming out that the Pac-10 hasn't contacted anyone from Utah or the MWC about this.....
I'm tired of all these roller coaster rides.

Great move for the Utes. They should be able to compete right away.
This makes the BSU move lateral.

TCU brings nothing to a major conference though. Small enrollment, small stadium that they can't fill, etc.
