Can someone explain to me why so many are excited for Aggie to join the SEC?

Do you really think we ink a kid like Russell Shepard if there is an SEC school in the state of Texas?

For me it's just more the implosion of the Big 12 that's hilarious and if the SEC happens to "accidentally" help that along, so be it

Because it gives us a base in Texas for the SEC (Houston & Dallas area). How do you know we WOULDN'T have picked up RS for LSU?

Have lost their minds within the past 24 hours. There's an enormous sense of desperation.

They're either desperate to get into the SEC, or desperate to get away from Texas. Either way, these people are crazy.

And yes their brother is a complete a-hole, but they're still the red-headed step-child.

One thing is for sure....they REALLY want to align with the SEC.

Have you read some of the comments?

I can't say for certain we would have but I am not buying this notion that it gives us a "base" in Houston and Dallas. We already have one guys. Joe Addai, Terrance Toliver, Brandon LaFell, Zach Lee, Michael Brockers, Stavion Lowe, Craig Loston, Ron Brooks, Jarrett Lee and on and on and on).

GEtting Aggie doesn't help us. Indeed it could hurt our recruiting. We're the western most SEC school; the closest SEC school to Texas. So if a kid is from Texas and wants to play in the nation's best conference and the best pipeline to the NFL, we're the natural choice.

Can I prove it? No. But this notion that we need Aggie to help us in Texas is hogwash.

Answer this: why is Florida so vehement that FSU and Miami NOT be admitted to the SEC?

this watered down big 12 with no conf. championship game will be putting UT or OU in the championship game every year.

Good for them. Then they can keep getting beat down by Florida/Bama/LSU every year.

There's something to be said about a fan base that passionate about joining. It gets me excited. Who wants fans who don't give a crap about being here?

I think a large chunk of people on here just want to see the PAC10 fail with their plans. Same for Texas.

I prefer to kick the Pac in the balls while they are down so their grand scheme falling apart is sweet sweet music to my ears.

I think many people liked A&M coming to the SEC because A&M was essentially flicking a bird finger to Texas.

Exactly. We're enjoying this because it is anti-Texas and anti-Pac-10. But once we get the Aggie girl pregnant, we gotta marry her. And I'm not sure she's the marrying type.

I signed the petition as did my g/f. It may not help, but you don't know unless you try.
