Is this a pretty accurate depiction of what's gone down?

from a Texas board:
quote:
For such a proud university, this is pathetic. Let's summarize:
- Texas: "We aren't happy. Let's explore other options."
- Colorado & Nebraska: "Crap. Texas is leaving; we'd better bolt!"
- Pac 10: "We'll take you Texas along with the rest of the Big 12 South except Baylor."
- Texas: "Sounds great Pac-10. Hang on a second while I round up the others."
- OU, OSU, Tech: "Whatever you say boss! We will follow!"
- A&M: "Pac-10 sounds interesting. But we are going to explore all options and then make a decision."
- Texas: "Uh, hang on Pac-10 we're going to need a few more minutes. (whispering loudly) Come on Aggies we are waiting!
- A&M: "Well you are going to have to wait longer. We'll make a decision when we're damn good and ready."
- Texas (internally): "Holy crap what do the Aggies think they are doing? Did they not hear us?? This isn't good. We can't allow this. How can we put pressure on them and make them look like the bad guys?"
- Pac-10 (impatient): "What's the hold up Texas?"
- Texas: "Uh, well, you see, we've decided that maybe keeping the rest of the Big 12 together isn't such a bad idea. After all, we are all about tradition. Oh Aggies, are you in? Or are you going to cause the destruction of the Big 12?"

I think that is pretty darn accurate of the reality. You really can't believe any report that's coming out now. They are only telling us what they want us to hear.

Mix in the Big Ten fricking over Mizzou and Tom Osborne calling texass' bluff and you got it!

Personally... I think having a team from Texas in the SEC is fricking stupid. But that's just me.

hey now there was this very scientific study done by a couple of Ole Miss grad students about where the western boundary of Dixie was.
They concluded, after scouring the countryside, sampling sweet tea restaurants, rebel flag sightings, etc., that the western most boundary of Dixie was indeed Hwy 6 that runs up through East Texas.
So, I think College Station qualified by a few hundred yards, but no more.

Actually, A&M is just west of Highway 6, so not Dixie per the OM study. But then, it doesn't matter anyway.

i dont understand your reasoning. All of these conferences are trying to get on to more TV sets in new markets to expand their exposure.
Now, imagine Texas as one of the top few contestants for Miss USA.
Wouldnt you want a piece of that fine arse?

"Now boys, why are ya'll thinking 'bout moseying over to LSU to play ball? You can stay right here in Texas, at A&M, and still play in the best conference in the nation."
