LINK

Powerful images of our State Bird dying.

Here's a LINK to the first set of Boston Globe's Big Picture series of oil reaching shore. Lots of sad pictures there.
Preemptive "Wrong board" and "Germans"

I don't really give a frick about the birds at this point, I am more worried about the jobs and money that is being lost because of this. Peoples livlihood is more important than a fricking bird

Not much he could do for the birds. According to CNN, Buras is currently the only location that is set up to clean off the wildlife.

fricking idiot. Those people in BP were also worried about money more than about safety and those birds.

Don't get me wrong I hate to see birds covered in oil but at this point I am more concerned about the fisherman and offshore workers that are out of work because of this

Where are all the posters who said this wasn't a big deal and that the media was blowing this out of proportions for ratings. Yep, nothing to see here. Let's just move on along.

I'm still here.

I still stand by my original convictions that the media was only reporting the worst case scenario. Also, I still stand by my ideals that people flying off of the handle would just make this board worthless.

The worst case scenario played out, but I still don't think it's as bad as everyone believes, at this point in time.

However, my hopes that they get this thing plugged in the next few weeks are pretty bleak, so I think that this will only get worse.

Unfortunately this won't be an "American Tragedy" until Bald Eagles nesting along the Gulf Coast start dropping out of the sky from eating oiled fish.

The even more heartbreaking pictures......remember......11 offshore employees died doing their jobs. But keep showing the pictures of oiled birds. These are the guys my heart goes out to.

Thanks for those pics Federal. I knew none of them, but even over a month after, this still chokes me up.
