Be prepared to watch it at least twice to fully understand what the hell is going on .It's kinda deep.

Scared the crap out of me when it came out. Great psychological thriller.

I want to watch this again but am too scared. NO HOMO.

Some of these scenes were complete mindfricks that are hard to get out of your head.

I'm glad you brought this movie up because it has the kind of ending I was hoping for LOST.

Awesome, awesome movie. Seen it many times, yet there is one scene that never fails to give me a chill.

I watched it after getting recommended from this board, and I was kinda disappointed. It was decent, but I was expecting it to totally frick my head, and it didn't. It seems like a movie that's much better if you saw it around the time when it came out. I dunno, I just was hoping it'd be better.

There are definitely some creepy parts in it though.

I read a great review of the movie which essentially states that the director was a moron who cared more about the aesthetics (is there aenough smoke in this shot?) than servicing the story. Pretty much Robbins and Aiello save this movie from irrelevence by their very powerful performances.

Though the descent into "hell" is pretty cool. But one thing this movie is not, is deep.

One of my personal favorite movies of all time.

I think watching it back in the day definitely influences how much you like the movie.

Jacob had to have some way to get to the cave and write the candidate's names on the wall.

I don't know why, but every time I hear about this movie, I also associate it with The Serpent and the Rainbow. I went back and watched both trailers and coincidentally, they have virtually the same lines spoken in the end of the trailer.

For someone watching this today it won't have the same impact as when it came out simply because there have been movies with similar themes that did it better. I won't say which films as to not give too much info.

Not saying Ladder was groundbreaking or anything but at the time, I had not seen a movie handles themes that way. Now we have had several, so I could see people not thinking much of Ladder these days.

It's actually a very simple theme once you figure out what the story represents.
