Every time I watch a movie he's in, I'm always left thinking, "Wow, I wonder why he didn't do more?"

IMO, Wilder is one of the most versatile and talented actors/performers in the last 40 years and he wasn't really in that many big movies (relatively speaking of course). He was, however, iconic in the movies he was in.

To Gene Wilder...

He's a weird looking dude. I think that kind of typecast him.

Good day sir!

That was one of my favorite movies growing up. And both of the books for that matter. He was goofy, but yet awesome (as that scene shows). Depp, got the goofy aspect, but didn't get much further than that.

It is odd that he did not make more movies. He was super popular there for a bit but it seems not too many people other than Mel Brooks liked him.

Wonka is my favorite but Silver Streak is right up there. Blazing Saddles and Youn Frankenstein were equally awesome.

They had Stir Crazy on EncoreHD or EpixHD the other day, can't remember which one. Good stuff.

Yeah he was awesome. He pretty much disappeared after Gilda Radner died, such a sad story.

I love Young Frankenstein, probably my favorite movie of his.
"That's Frankensteen!!"

Any fans of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother here?
