all those coaches are from schools who produce the players to get it done every year with talent bends that never run out....how about the coach who is at the country school and turns chicken shite into chicken salad....thats your real winner.....not the nd's or eca's or the pvbhs's.......
ill throw one out there.........brent indest who went to kaplan high and turned a 10 yr straight losing program into a playoff team in one yr.....

Red Franklin-Haynesville, even though he's supposed to be retired, he's at every practice and every game on the sideline.

Sharkfin, just where do you think ND is? It's in Crowley. Not exactly a metropolitan area. Most of those kids playing at ND are from farm families and they also learn hard work from working on farms. Notre Dame doesn't have an endless supply of athletes like schools from the large cities.
Getting back to Lew Cook, he coached my son at Crowley High to a state championship in 1989. And he did it without one player that year getting a D-1 offer. Just a bunch of average, overacheiving kids that worked hard. My son played on that team so I know firsthand how good of a coach Cook is. I never had to worry about where my son was and I will always be gratefull to coach Cook for that reason.
Brent Indest is the same kind of coach. He will be successful wherever he goes.

Brad Bradshaw, Bastrop High School.

The real answer is JT Curtis.

What has Bradshaw won without Katrina players?

TOMMY MINTON: PATTERSON HIGH SCHOOL
YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT ALWAYS WITH ONE OF THE TOUGHEST PRE SEASON SCHEDULES IN THE STATE. THIS IS A SOLID PROGRAM WITH MANY SIGNEES.

Kenny Sears has done well despite lacking the "elite" athlete at St. Paul's High School. Some solid linemen, but always lacking a D1 RB/WR/DB.

Throw away your prejudices and look at the elephant in the room. No matter what you think, John Curtis wins year in and year out.
He gets kids into the system, builds them up physically, and instills discipline into his teams like no other.
Say what you like. There are many great coaches, but his record speaks for himself.
....and this is coming from a Belle Chasse alum who couldn't stand Curtis.

Probably Louie Cook at Notre Dame is one of the top coaches. He does a tremendous job without the athletic talent that many, many schools have at their disposal. His record is pretty ridiculous! Notre Dame does have a winning tradition over its history but the coaching has always been a plus because of the lack of natural athletes. Yes, there are some big germans out there from the farms, but if we compared the size of the ND players to those at most public schools they compete against, they aren't nearly the biggest on either side of the ball. There has been only one kid from ND that I know of who's been offered an LSU scholarship in recent years and that's DJ Welter who will be graduating this year. I was a young kid in the 1970's and ND had some big kids back in the 60's and 70's. The Casanova boys, Benji Thibodeaux are good examples. All played at LSU and we know the history of Tommy Casanova. That's off topic but ND does very well for the athletes it gets.

No disrespect to coach Cook but there's a reason why the school wants to officially go by Notre Dame of Acadia Parish. Just sayin'
