i am a la native, but grew up in ga. i know everyone "knows somebody" or has "inside info", but out of curiosity, why have the tigers missed out on so many evangel and curtis players over the past 20-25 yrs? just wanted some insight

Have many players from either school that signed with other teams panned out?

Isn't there a belief that Curtis' coach is anti-LSU?

B/c honestly their haven't really been to many that are talented enough to make the team.

Guys that could have come from ECA would have been:
Johnathon Wade: We had C web and T Daniels
Brock Berlin: we didn't miss much
Brent Rawls: Went to OU complete bust

No OL or LB's

The perception is that Evangel and Curtis players are program players. While not totally true, some undoubtedly were. The Booty brothers were good at LSU (Abram got hurt and wasn't effective after that). Whether we like it or not, Joe McKnight was a good one that "got away." But, that was either his desire to leave LA or the money was too good to turn down. Of course, Jacob Hester turned out to be a good one. Evangel was in TX recruiting territory. J.T. Curtis loves whomever donates the most money to the school's athletic program.

Wade was only missed due to a recruiting violation or would have been here

I don't think I've ever heard that before, what's the story there? I thought he just chose to leave the state.

He was good, not great. And by his actions he made himself one of the most unpopular people in the State of Louisiana.

The proof is there. 2 years ago, he sent his son to speak at the LSU coaching clinic, while he attended Alabama's which was the same weekend. That says it all to me.

Please tell me what John Curtis kids had an offer from LSU in the last ten years and didn't sign with here. I'll answer for you. Joe McKnight. The other McKnight, Tank and Robby Green didn't have offers.

We have gotten ever player, besides McKnight we ever wanted from Curtis. Besides Chris Jackson, most never panned out. Stop saying we don't get who we want from there though.

After Evangel and JC redshirt their guys in 1st, 5th and then 9th, they are as good as they will get. No projectability or room to grow and get better once they hit college level.
