evangel's coach didn't want his player to play for DiNardo

The fact that we might waste this guy's WR skills by playing him at safety or God-forbid cornerback is beyond me.

he does on quite a few...but that is coaching

quite a few, no, a couple of times, yes. your right it's coaching, but not as much as most people think, and it's not easy to fix once a kid is jr or sr in high school. I mean almost all coaches teach to extend, fight back to the ball, and use the hands, yet you still see a ton of players even in college that don't use their hands enough.

Good athlete, but he catches the ball with his body, i havn't seen him extend his arms on any play.

re: QB situation

As long as lsu continues to line up in the gun the majority of the time, i think i quarterbacks will continue to struggle. For jj and jl to be successful, our running game has to improve and it won't improve from the gun.

I don't think he should, he might by the end of the season. I mean les did start jj as true fresh so it's not out of the question, but he wasn't ready and he hasn't improved since. Lee should sit two years to develop physically and mentaly.

The kid has over 4 months to focus on conditioning and adding quality weight. If he can put on 5-10 quality pounds before the season, watch out! Mingo at a legit 245 is good enough.

Espn said 212, there is no way he weights 230.
Josh Downs did play, but not much. On Downs last play he stood straight up limped a couple of steps and didn't play again.

We just have to make sure that his grades are in order and I think he'll have no problem being an LSU Tiger.

I don't think grades are going to matter this year because we are going to have some extra slots that we can use to sign and place. I mean were still going to only take a flyer on elite talent like fleming and D’haquille Williams.

This happened over 20 years ago. You got any recent examples, one guy 20 years ago doesn't help to sell your point.

I don't like this idea.

Take the highlight tape and upload it on youtube first, then email as many schools as you can with his info and tell them his highlights are available on-line on youtube. Also mail the highlights to the schools that you think he has a shot of playing, his level whether it be D-1,IAA,SEC,Sunbelt where ever.

I would listen to this guy for sure. The vid is fine, but i would move the td punt return to the start of the vid. He is a solid player, i would make about 50 copies and send about 40 to D1's and the rest to D1aa's just to be safe. I might would wait till after spring practice to send vid's when coaches have more time, but i don't know if it matters.

This is what I figured. I know there are about a dozen or so high profile recruits that attend these camps every summer. I figure they probably get most of the attention.

I went to a couple of camps. If it's a week long camp, and he gets to stay in a dorm then it's worth it. I wouldn't worry to much about attention or getting noticed. I went to the TAMU camp and it was football sleep eat. It was was more intense then my normal hour and half daily workout, and did a lot of good. I would say it's worth the money to get in football shape a month early.

Yeah because he played for the unicorns.

I hope we miss out oliver is a stud.

The lack of mental toughness with examples of bama imposing their will on us etc are by products of poor recruiting IMO. For the past few years we have let rivals tell us who the football players were instead of evaluating talent on a much deeper level like saban did. You have backed up your claim of having better recruiting classes than them with ratings from rivals. That is the equivalent of an NFL team deciding who to draft based solely on combine numbers. There is no drill to measure heart and toughness or competitive nature or work ethic. So, my claim is that bama obviously had better recruiting classes than us the past few years, despite what rivals said. Same as my belief the moffitt has a great offseason program, despite how many reps our players do at the combine.

I agree with most of this, but combine numbers will affect the overall quality of recurites we sign. recurites will take notice of our combine results, and poor combines sure don't help recuriting.
