Chicago is gonna skullfrick them.

The three worst offenses to make the postseason? From best to worst: New Jersey, Montreal, Boston. What do they have in common?

Philly has not played a league average offense this entire postseason. Chicago was third in goals scored. Chicago should absolutely crush them. Philly has faced nothing like that offense for a very long time.

Prediction right now.....The hawks will show what a bum leighton was and fricking own the goons in 4 straight. they will not be afraid to do what we failed to do. they will show how to beat that bum consistently.

Congrats to Chicago for winning the Stanley Cup.

Nice of them to play Philly in an exhibition tour, too.

flyers in 6...tore apart halak, on to niemi...once again chicago hasn't been hit with this type of crash the net offence...their defense won't hold up to the challenge and the flyers D is pretty unstoppable right now...anyone who actually argues this is naive.....

The Flyers have won 8 of 9 and shouldn't be discounted so easily. Having said that, Chicago is playing absolutely excellent hockey and has been facing consistently tougher opposition for the past two series. They just breezed through SJ and aside from Game 1, pretty much dominated the Canucks. Now it's not like Philly could choose their opponents, but it's hard to argue that they've seen a team anything like Chicago in the postseason. I think the Flyers have the chemistry and drive to win a game or two and to be competitive in most of the games, but Chicago is going to win the Cup.

hardly the case....

Game 1 2-1 very tight game
Game 2 4-2 biggest actual victory
Game 3 3-2 OT needless to say close game
Game 4 4-2 Empty netter scored at end and sharks outplayed them for first period and a little of the second...

definitely did not breeze through...looking at the hawks in the playoffs for the most part when they lose, they lose big...when they win, it's just barely...they will be playing a flyers team thats beyond hot with offense, defense, and especially penalty kill..given the flyers don't take too many penalties, my theory is hawks game 1, flyers game 2-4, hawks 5, flyers clinch at home......

You left the most important symbol off that list: the W by each of those. They swept the top overall seed in their conference. That's as good as it gets. You can pick a less emphatic adjective if you prefer, but it doesn't change that fact. A sweep over the top seed in your conference is more impressive than a 5 game win over the 8th seed. And Vancouver is a much better team than Boston as well. Like I said, Chicago has faced better competition and has dispatched of that competition more impressively. That doesn't necessarily mean they'll win, but it's just one of many reasons that point in that direction. And btw, the margin of victory in the Vancouver series was 2, 3, 3, and 4 (kind of hard to write all of those off as "barely winning").

you clearly don't know the city of philadelphia and what the flyers mean to them win or lose...watch the broad street bullies documentary and you will understand......this couldn't be further from the truth and if you actual know people like this (which is unlikely), they are probably phillies fans because thats what they do

you left out the heart of the flyers...and the fact that they absolutely dismantled the devils, who in fact had probably the best defense in the regular and probably the best goalie to play the game...had lowest goals against all season and they were a much better team than anyone in the west, but didn't get the points to show it because they play in a much harder division than any of the west leaders...

look at the flyers playoff stats...by far the best defense in the playoffs and nothing like the hawks have seen

the flyers were the 18th place team overall in the NHL!. we were 19th i believe. much better teams in the WEST! put the crack pipe down. but spin it how you want. Brodeur is ONE of the best of all time,NOT the best but he is basically done. Hawks will destroy your bum. let's see if he can stand on his head when pressured consistently.

from another thread, this is rich! Do they handout crack pipes at the wachovia center pre-game???

quote from a flyer:
flyers in 6..destroyed halak, on to niemi

destroyed??? more like we destroyed ourselves offensively and on defense.halak had one bad game in game one. after that game you did not score more than 3 (one empty netter at least)and most of those goals were on our o-men and d-men by giving away turnovers and putting halak in a jam. I guess you only watched game one then eh then to say halak was destroyed? you would make good pals with the moron in the other thread cptbengal...you are on the same level hockey sense wise per your posts....

Keep dreaming flyer trash. Hawks will own you! They will expose the AHL bum leighton!

yeah scoring no more than 3 MAX (including an empty netter) after the bad first game is really destroying him. Do these guys even really watch the games? or realize that because a few goals were scored the defensive play of the forwards and defensmen play a huge part in opportunities also ( see my post where i gave philly's D credit for letting a bum not have to stand on his head or be tested), especially in regard to turnovers? Good grief, flyers. get some perspective, please.

not so fast, he blocked a ton of shots the first two series, yes he is slow, but he is better than Hammer and MAB who are terrible. we need some big changes this offseason. we are solid with markov, gorges, subban will be good, and O'Byrne is big and young and will get better. I doubt we will be able to replace gill as we have glaring problems with others first and foremost.

We have 3 little warriors in cammy, gomez and gionta, but we have a big pussy in pouliot who REFUSES to use his size to crash the net. he is still young(not giving upon him just yet) so put him on the 4th line for now. we need to dump pleks(or get what we can for him) also, he is soft and does not show up playoff time. we need a big center with good hands to take his place to complement cammy. we also need a big winger to go on the first line to complement gomez and gionta. a big guy with good hands on each of the first 2 lines will open up things even more for gionta and cammy. Andrei Kostitsyn and little brother should be history, AK did not show up the last 2 series either just like plekanecs. need to upgrade there. Probably have to trade carey price now because we really need size and grit on the first two lines and we need at least one more top 4 defenseman. Pierre Gauthier has his hands full, but if he cannot see who needs to be purged then GOD help him.

like they say if we do not make changes to get better then we will only get worse because others will be getting better. we have a great core to build around. cammy and gio can score(and show up come playoff time, imagine a big guy who can score on each of their respective lines to complememt them? our 3rd line is good. very tough and gritty with tons of heart pyatt, moore and lapiere. put the leftovers on the 4th line.

i know what you mean. he is best in front of the goalie staying in the shooting lanes blocking shots, he can stay with some defenders at times, close to the net but when he is caught backing in from the blue line he gets burned. I really hope we shitcan hammer. I guarantee MAB is gone. hammer is too old and slow as well. but he has a big fat contract. maybe we can get a bag of pucks or some sticks for him!
