2 Quarterback System?

Is it time for LSU to start thinking about the possibility of using a 2 QB system? I know it proves fatal in some situations but Jefferson and Lee both have distinct pros and cons. Lee, a better passing QB...Jefferson a run threat with a modicum of passing ability. Seems you could set up a potential system utilizing their strengths in various game situations. Am I being totally nuts in thinking this? Let me have it...I can take it...

Pray that Zach Lee turns down MLB. Or you know what we will recruit heavily next for the '11 class. After watching this game, we have problems at QB.

doesn't work with the 2 qb's in question.. neither can run.. lee could throw a pick and then not have the opportunity to redeem himself with jefferson back in the game only to get sacked multiple times and be stagnant..

Count me in.

If nothing else, since both JL and JJ seem to be struggling, allowing them to watch some from the sideline would help both.

JL did as would be expected in the SEC for a RS Fr before Hatch was hurt. After that, the wheels seem to come off at times.

If they do this, there has to be some sort of "system" unless one starts to clearly outperform the other. Just substituting randomly isn't likely to work. And pulling a QB for bad performance could have disastrous effects. I understand the concept, but I don't know if Miles/Crowton would be able to handle this properly. In fact, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't.

No. This is partly why LSU can't do shite on offense to begin with. Crowton's scheme puts certain players in for the situation and the defense reads it easy. This would just add to that exact problem. Lets bring JJ in for the option package!

Clever saying but not necessarily so. Consider '07; great offense and Perrilloux was used significantly with Flynn. Also, UF used Tebow and Leak when they won the NC in '06.

Teams that employ "wildcat" formations are basically conceding that they need more than "1 QB."

To this point, I've seen nothing from JJ/JL that suggests to me that wither is ready to have an O orchestrated around them. It may be time to shift the thinking to viewing QB as another interchangeable position in hopes of maximizing their positives and minimizing their negatives.

i would usually say hell no to this idea. But i think for this team it is the way to go into the fall with both guys thinking this. It will push both of them to excell and i think it can gives us an edge playing both guys. good idea for now.

Our offense is already too confusing for a 1 QB system.

I think this type of 2 QB system would work with Shepard being the option QB. Has this idea escaped Crowton?

thats what ive been saying... i hope we use a 2 qb system because neither of them can handle the pressure by themselves.... if both play it drives each of them to play better knowing they may lose their spot also
