(These were only games I attended...in other words, I wasn't at the '96 regional final vs. GT)

Top games in no particular order:

'92 - Miss State double-header...last series of the year and whoever won 2/3 would win the conference. LSU won the DH on this day and the crowd was so overpacked that it was decided that a green tarp would be put down the left field foul line to accommodate more fans. Bill Franques continued throughout the game for fans to scoot towards homeplate as much as possible. At that time, the Box held about 6,700 fans and a thousand more were there that day.

'93 - Regional Final vs. South Alabama. Winner take all as LSU fought its way back into the regional after losing its second game vs. Kent State. I've said many times and still attest that this was the most electric I have heard the Box prior to the first pitch. I recall "Centerfield" blaring minutes before game and every single patron was clapping along to it and just going nuts. I knew at that point that we'd win the regional and the electricity was off the charts. A strange regional, in that Miami was the first team sent home and LSU and Kent State had a grand slam fest vs. one another, but one with a very happy ending and LSU went on to have an intense CWS win.

'93 - Brett Laxton throws a one hitter against South Carolina. It was a precursor to what we'd see in Omaha. The 7 inning game - part 2 of a DH - lasted about an hour and 20 minutes. The guy, at one time, was the best pitcher in LSU history...just didn't end that way.

'90 - Rich Cordani's GW homerun to give LSU a regional victory over Brett Boone and USC. The insanity was all that led up to that final game, which included an electric opening game against USL in front of a full house - many of whom were Cajun fans. There was the first LSU loss to USC; there was USC putting up damn near 30 on Houston and there was a ridiculous amount of rain that prolonged the regional. The Cordani HR was the cherry on top to a sweet weekend of baseball.

'91 - LSU and A&M met in the winner's bracket as 1 vs. 2. The Tigers erupted early and often and pounded a well-traveled Aggie fanbase and team. Having been in College Station just 2 years earlier to see the Tigers sweep a double-header from the #1 team in America, revenge was heavily felt in the air. What's funnier is that USL knocked them out of the regional in the elimination game.

'02 - The infamous LSU vs. ULL "bat game" where Aaron Hill was tossed out of the game. This game proved how one team was classy and the other just the pissed off little brother as a bunch of Marshall Mathers continued to come out of their dugout and want to jump on Matt Heath... ...somehow I feel like I can stop here as I bet most of you were there.

'90 - Wes "Popeye" Grisham hit a HR vs. Houston that went as a line drive over the deepest part of CF. The ball must have went 480-500 feet. Not to be outdone, Lyle Mouton hit a mammoth shot that nailed the scoreboard and had that scoreboard not been there, it likely would have traveled about 500, itself.

'09 - The Super Regionals vs. Rice. I don't think I have to explain this one, either, as most everyone was either there or saw it on tv. The final out and the dog pile was an awesome site that I had not seen in a while.

Actually I am going to stop there, but would love to read more of others. I wish I could claim certain games like the LBSU elimination game in '97 or the 2000 super regionals vs. UCLA. While I have seen some great LSU moments in the Superdome, in Omaha, and College Station, nothing really compares to the Box and post season baseball there...old and new.

Good memories, but the final regional/super regional at the Box vs UC Irvine probably tops them all. From the 8th and 9th inning rally in Game 2, to the back to back to back HR's in the first inning of game 3. Tradition and a hungry crowd won that series!!!

Also, there was a winner's bracket final game on a Saturday morning in the 1997 regional vs. Cal-St Fullerton that LSU fell behind 8-1 in the 3rd inning and Bertman inserted the probable Saturday night starter (if they lost) into the game. Bowe pitched awesome, the Tigers smashed several HR's and rallied for the win and cruised into Omaha and won another title.

Edit: 1998 not 1997.

That was 1998. LSU fell behind 7-0 in the 3rd inning and I believe the Fullerton pitcher they were facing was unbeaten that season. Game went back and forth until Cedrick Harris doubled home the go-ahead two runs in the 8th.

not sure who we played, but one year they oversold the student tickets, so they were forced to let all the kids sit along the right and left field foul lines. pretty sweet experience for a 12yr old

I also remember being in the LF bleachers in the early 90s when USC came to town. Cant remember if it was a regional or just a 3 game series, but they left field lunatics gave Jaqcue Jones hell the entire game (watermelon, friend chicken bombs galore). until he hit his 3rd HR of the game, way over the LF bleachers halfway to the married dorms. everyone game him a standing O when he came back to the field the next inning

Not sure what year but Belle hit a come from behind walk off towering HR against Georgia and just stood at the plate for what seemed to be a full minute before rounding the bases.

We always sit up in Coon's Corner, but for that game we spent 5 or so innings in left center giving it to that punk Kaplan. Good times.

the '96 regional final vs. GT

I was working in Memphis at the time. Got a hair up my arse to come, drove down in the middle of the night, got on campus around 7am just in time to get in line for the gameday ticket sale. been awhile but I think they had like 100 tixs for sale, got two and took my brother.

leftfield stands, I remember the longest inning of my life but what I remember more was when the "music guy" played Shout, the GT leftfielder was a kid named Fischer. Had talked to the fans over there throughout the game....when Shout played the whole leftfield area replaced Shout with "Fish"

you know you make me want to "Fish", throw my hands up and "Fish"

sorry for my long story

The regional where we beat S. Cal at The Box to advance to Omaha. Don't remember the year but I think it might have been '96 or '97.

Their right fielder, Jacque Jones (who went on to a long MLB career) hit three home runs. I was in the right field bleachers. After his first home run when he came back out to take his position, the fans gave him hell telling him he was lucky, never happen again, etc.

After his second dinger, the fans told him he had used up all his luck, what a suckie player he was, how he couldn't do it again, blah, blah, blah.

After his third home run, he got a standing ovation from the RF stands when he came back out to take his position. He couldn't stop grinning. Even tipped his cap to the fans.

I'll never forget it.

It was a Regional. Pretty sure we played a DH on Sunday to decide the champ. That USC team featured both Jones and Geoff Jenkins...they were in beast mode. It was also CRAZY HOT. Everytime a cloud would cover the sun it felt like a blizzard. I was seated right below Bonzo and the rest of the LF Lunatics. Good times
