Did this guy put on 30 pounds since the season? Couple articles now with this lineup:

LT Barksdale
LG Blackwell/Williford
C Hebert/PJ
RG Josh D
RT Hurst

I know they are going to experiment but please let this guy improve like no one else ever has or something changes.

I still think he's a natural T, maybe even LT. What's the word on Faulk?

Actually, I think Dworazyck is at LG, and Blackwell at RG.

I seem to remember Faulk mentioned as 3rd string RT.

They're trying everyone everywhere.

I've seen this the most though.

LT Bark
LG Josh D
C Lonergan
RG Blackwell
RT Hurst

Faulk has been working at backup LT.

At what point should we make up our mind and assign these guys positions so they can start learning and specializing at one position?

I don't see us switching for individual plays but I wouldn't mind seeing him come in and line up as an extra blocker like they did with Barksdale in '07 (might have just been the NC game, not sure)

Can Hurst play tackle? I thought he was too big and was a natural guard.

Think of the average weight on the line if Barksdale, Blackwell, Lonergan, Williford, and Hurst started. The running game would return instantly.

this depth chart has Josh D. at RT and Hurst at RG. The most important thing to take from the article I think is that the coaches are trying out a group of guys at multiple positions. I don't think we'll see exactly who starts on the o-line until the fall.

Josh has put on a ton of muscle in the offseason and is now over three hundred pounds. He's worked his arse off this offseason.

That's great news! Over 300 pounds? If so, and its muscle then great for him and great for the team. I hope he's improved so much the staff has no choice but keep him in the lineup.

I think he'd be a really, really good RT and should start there. But keeping him at Guard would be a mistake, IMO. We need three big guys on the interior to have a power running game.

Last year, from LG to RG, in weight:

286 (Josh D) - 285 (TBob) - 280 (Hitt)

This year, from LG to RG:

300 (Blackwell) - 300 (Longergan) - 324 (Hurst)

or

336 (Williford) - 300 (Longergan) - 324 (Hurst)

Obviously, you can't judge the merits of an offensive line based on poundage, but I think last year proved that you need to be bigger to run in the SEC. The biggest problem here is lack of experience, since none of the interior OL would be a returning starter. That is a little troubling but hopefully doesn't prevent Miles from making the right move and sliding Josh D out to RT where he'd have more space to utilize his good feet and mobility.

Biggest thing about the O line, is that everyone in the 3 deep will be back for 2011. Everyone except Barksdale, and the talent is there to replace him. If they improve greatly this year, 2011 and on could be scary good on the Oline with the 2011 class LOADED in LA at the O line position.
